Chapter 4: The New Mystery

Three weeks later, crime had stopped yet again, and Daniel and Tom were talking in Tom's house and room.

"What is happening around here?" Tom asked.

"What do you mean?" Daniel asked.

"You really aren't ever up to date are you?" Tom said, "I mean the crime rate. It went up and then down and then up and back down."

"I don't know," Daniel responded.

"Is anyone home?" Someone outside asked.

"It's Sarah and Mia!" Tom said, running down the stairs and opening the door. "Come on in! Daniel, come on down and we can play some Super Fight Brothers!"

"I'll be right there!" Daniel yelled.

"Hey, Daniel! Which character do you play!?" Mia yelled up the stairs.

"Marthina! Why do you ask?" Daniel said as he arrived down the stairs.

"So I can pick someone I can use to beat you."

"Like who?"

"Lelda."

"Dang it. If you use her I can't use Zink," Tom said.

"I call One Suit Ramus!" Sarah said.

"Then let the games begin!" Tom said as he turned on the Odnetnin Switch and Super Fight Brothers.

When they finished it was time for everyone to go home.

"Bye guys!" Tom said.

"Bye, you three!" Sarah said.

"Bye Tom! Bye Sarah! Bye Mia!" Daniel said.

"Bye Losers!" Mia said.

"You don't have to brag that you won every single time because you can play every character," Tom said.

"Of course I do! I have to tell you losers how lame you are!" Mia yelled.

"Death! Ah ha ha hahaha! Everyone must die!" Someone shouted.

"Everyone hide!" Daniel shouted.

"Daniel! What are you doing!" Sarah shouted as she watched Daniel run towards an old lady with gun hair.

"Granny Hearthop? I thought you didn't have a power?" Tom said.

"Daniel stop! We don't have powers! We'll get killed!" Mia yelled.

"I can keep you safe!" Daniel yelled

"No! I'll keep you safe!" Sarah yelled as she made the old woman float in mid-air facing the sky.

A few minutes later the police arrived and arrested Granny Hearthop. Everyone went home and that night Daniel hopped out the window and met up with Luna.

"Luna! How are you doing?" Eclipse asked.

"Good seeing as I just kicked your butt in Super Fight Brothers," She responded.

"Wow just wow. It's not important. Let's just go patrol the area."

"Okay."

"Hey, Eclipse. A while ago you told a news reporter that you didn't want to let anyone die not again. What did you mean by again?"

"I guess it's only right that you know. It was around two years ago, so I was about thirteen years old. My older brother was a cop and had been my hero since he became one so he was my hero since let's see here around third grade. Anyways someone broke into our hotel room while we were on vacation and held a gun to his head. I wanted to keep him safe and I tried to but the man just kicked me over and... he shot my brother and killed him."

"I'm sorry to bring up such a bad memory I shouldn't have pried."

"Don't worry about it, I'm okay now besides. We're friends and partners so I won't hide it especially since you asked."

"I should probably tell you then that well, I'm an orphan. After Johnny Jet killed my Mother it was just a seven-year-old me, her little sister, and her father who got into a car accident and barely survived. He wasn't able to do anything for us until he got better a year later. We were driving to school when it happened again. We crashed. I managed to survive but I was the only one who did. My sister and father died."

"I'm sorry you had to go through that. I didn't know."

"I would smile and say don't worry like you but it still haunts me to this day. Why? Why me?"

"It'll be okay. I'm here if you ever need to talk."

"Thank you."

"Wait! Luna, there's something over there," Eclipse said, stopping and pointing to a small red light.

"Are we going to check it out or just keep standing here?" Luna asked.

"I'll check it out," Eclipse said as he walked over to it and picked it up.

"What is it?" Luna asked, walking over.

"It's a robot."

"A robot?"

"Yeah. What's it doing here?"

"I wish I knew."

"Who dares touch the masters' device?" Someone boomed

"Who's there?"

"I am!" A girl said.

"Julia!?" Eclipse said.

"Who?"

"My little sister's friend," Eclipse said, crushing the tiny robot in his hand.

"I will take you down!"

"Luna! You know what to do."

"Okay," Luna said as she went into the shadows then appeared behind Julia, and tried to grab her but was hit in the stomach with a stone fist.

"LUNA!" Eclipse yelled. Eclipse drew the daggers that did more damage and ran at Julia. "Leave her alone!" Eclipse yelled as he broke the stone around Julia's fist.

"Ha! You think that's going to stop me?" Julia said, grabbing Eclipse and throwing him into a house.

"Crud. Civilians, you need to get out of here and call the police, stay out of the area or you could die. I'll hold her off," Eclipse said as he watched the man and woman runoff.

"You won't stop me from hurting them, you puny heroes!" Julia said.

"No... you don't... you... you villain," Luna said, panting and coughing. She went into the shadows and appeared in front of Julia, grabbed her, and took several punches.

"Let go, Luna! Eclipse!" Eclipse yelled as Luna let go of Julia and sank into the shadows. Eclipse ran at Julia, hit her with the paralysis knives then went back and got her several times with the damaging knives. Julia fell over and fainted. "Eclipse over," Eclipse said as everything went back to normal other than all the damage and Julia. The police arrived and took Julia away to be questioned back at the station.
