Chapter 8: The First Eclipse and The First Kidnapping

"Today there is going to be the first eclipse of the season. It's going to be a Lunar Eclipse meaning that the Solar Eclipse will be in a few weeks from now," The Man on the news said.

"Oh, the first eclipse is today," Daniel said as he walked out to his mom's car with Mia and Alex from the hospital. "Hey, mom! These are the friends that I was telling you about. Mia, Alex, this is my mom."

"Hello, you two!" His mom said.

"Hey," Mia said.

"I wouldn't call us friends, Eclipse," Alex said.

"Oh, yeah. Daniel! You're in trouble when we get home for not telling me that you were Eclipse."

"Mom! I told you yesterday that it was only because I wanted to protect you."

"We will talk about this when we get home for now let's just get you and your friends to school," Daniel's mom said as she drove off to school.

When they got to school, Sarah and Tom were waiting for Daniel and Mia.

"Hey, guys!" Tom said, excitedly.

"Hey!" Mia said

"Hey, Mia! Hi, Daniel!" Sarah said, smiling.

"Hey, guys," Daniel said, almost tired like.

"Is he okay?" Tom asked.

"He was fine when we got in the car."

"Maybe it has something to do with the Lunar Eclipse tonight?" Alex said as he walked past them.

"Even though he's extremely annoying he has a point," Sarah said.

"What do you mean by that?" Daniel asked.

"Well, most people with powers have a time or place when they're weak. I get weaker when I get near an area with high spiritual energy so maybe when the Eclipses happen you get weaker," Sarah responded.

"What!?" Tom said.

"What do you mean what? You're the one who should know about this stuff," Mia said.

"Let's just get to class," Daniel said, yawning.

"Okay," Mia said as she walked over towards the school

In the classroom, Landon was already in his seat whereas Lucy was once again hugging Alex.

"Let go of me," Alex said.

"I can't! I missed you too much!"

"The hugging is getting weird, Lucy!" Landon exclaimed.

"But I missed him too much! It felt like part of me was missing!"

"I've got this. Oww, my wing hurts," Alex said unenthusiastically.

"Are you okay?" Lucy asked as she let go.

"I am now," Alex said as he went to his seat and sat down.

"Hey, guys," Daniel said, sitting down.

"Hey," Landon said, watching Daniel with a confused expression that screamed, "is he okay".

"He's acting weird because he gets weaker during the Eclipse," Tom said.

"Oh! That's why he's being weird!" Lucy said.

At the end of school, they were leaving class when Daniel accidentally ran into someone and fell over.

"Sorry about that, I'm a little off today because of the Lunar Eclipse," Daniel said, apologizing.
