chapter 8 Poppypaw

Poppypaw was clawing alder bark from a tree

"Why are you scratching a tree" Riverpaw asked

"Because I need the bark from it" Poppypaw answered

"Why" Riverpaw asked

"Because Alder bark is good for toothaches" Poppypaw answered

She had some coltsfoot on top of the bark

"Can you help me take this back to camp" Poppypaw asked

"No way that's a medicine cat job" Riverpaw said

"I don't know about that Winterpaw helps me all the time" Poppypaw said

"I guess I can help" Riverpaw said

And the two of them walked back to camp

Riverpaw dropped the herbs he was carrying and left the den

Poppypaw started to sort the herbs onto the shelves that were in the den

All of Stormclan like sleeping outside but I don't I guess I'm just different

"Oh you collected more herbs" Mistysong said

"Yeah I did" Poppypaw replied

"Maybe if you show me how good you are with herbs I just might make you a full medicine cat at the next half moon" Mistysong said

"Alright and I have been making sure that we have plenty of herbs for leaf-bare" Poppypaw said

"That's good" Mistysong said

That has always been the most she well say to me that's nice Poppypaw thought

She continued to sort the herbs and once she was finished she got up and she looked at the herbs on the top shelf they all needed a restock before leaf-bare

I need to go and gather goosegrass lavender and chervil Poppypaw thought

Poppypaw walked out of the den to go collect the herbs

The first herb she found was the goosegrass

She started to collect the dark green grass

And she finished with the goosegrass and walked away to find some chervil

After she collected the herbs she went back to camp

And started to put the herbs in there piles

once she was finished

"More herbs" Mistysong asked

"Yes I wanted to make sure that we didn't run out during leaf-bare" Poppypaw answered

"Good" Mistysong said

I don't need her to praise me for me to be a good medicine cat Poppypaw thought

"It's getting late I'm going to my nest" Mistysong said

"Okay I'm going to finish up what I'm doing and go to my nest" Poppypaw replied

She finished up and walked over to her nest and layd down

It was early morning when she woke up

She started cleaning the den of all the dead leafs and moss

And making one big pile to be tossed out

"Morning" Mistysong said

"Hi Mistysong" Poppypaw replied

Poppypaw grabbed the pile and took it out of the camp and returned to the den

"What should I do" Poppypaw asked

"You should check the herb supply to see if any of them need to be tossed out" Mistysong answered

"Okay I well" Poppypaw replied

She started to grab brown leafs from the piles

She always tells me to clean the den instead of helping cats Poppypaw thought

"Hi Poppypaw is there anything I can help with" Winterpaw asked

"No so you can just leave" Mistysong answered

"Inless your here for mouse bile" Mistysong said

"No I'll just leave" Winterpaw said

After Winterpaw walked back out of the den

"She came to help why did you make her leave" Poppypaw asked

"Because I don't need more paws to trip over" Mistysong answered

And Poppypaw continued to clean the den
