𖣔 27th June 2021:
My mum said she was going back to our home country to divorce my stepdad. At first I was relieved because of the resentment I have for him, but one day I heard him crying. My dad who never cries. Who faces everything with a stone-cold face and a level-headedness cried. At that moment I realised even though he had turned me against my mother, he had also sacrificed so many great jobs and opportunities to be here with me and my siblings, and to help us through things and teach me and train me into the knowledgeable person I am today. And I felt bad for him.
My mum asked me for my opinion on the divorce. I just shrugged and said "it's a bit sad how you're going to divorce him even after everything he sacrificed to be here with us and raise his children and me, who's not even his." My mother when silent after that and I change the conversation.
I saved their marriage.
