She was beautiful. Everybody could see that. Everybody but her.

Everyday I saw her walk down the hall, and she looked so happy. Her smile was so bright, so warm, and it lit up everything around her. But somehow, that smile wasn't real.

Nobody could have guessed that that smile was the only thing that held her together. That she cried herself to sleep. That she couldn't see her beauty.

Nobody could see that she was drowning. Nobody could see past that beautiful smile, and into those darkening eyes. Her walls were breaking, just like her heart, and she was falling so fast without anybody knowing.

She was coming undone so quickly, and any minute the building emotion would break through, like water crushing an old dam. That smile would fade.

She was coming undone.
