"Major?"
"What's the situation?" Jennie looked towards Jisoo and Taehyung for an answer, ignoring all the questionable stares and comments ringing through the air.
The Arabs seemed to have seen that shes someone with authority, as she was able to have all the soldiers put their weapons down within a second.
"He's suffering from internal bleeding, and it seems to be very bad. His stomach is bloated, and we have to operate on him otherwise he's going to die." Jisoo explained the medical aspect of it.
"The problem is that they won't let us operate on him, saying that only the Arab doctors can. But the Arab doctor for him will take at least another 45 minutes, and we don't think he can make it that long." Taehyung continued.
"Do the operation. Let him live" she told Jisoo before turning to them.
"he needs the operation to live, he needs to get it done. Your Arab doctor is going to take too long, we don't think we can hold off that long with his life" she spoke to the Arab in English.
"We can't allow that. If he dies, who's going to take the blame? We need our Arab Doctors to operate on him, he's a very influential person" the Escort persisted as Jennie frustratedly clicked her tongue.
"I'll take the bloody fall for it! Jesus he's dying out here and all you care about is the fact that you can't trust us? I'll say that I was the one who made them operate and that I orchestrated this thing, saying that they restricted you because they had to listen to me as the highest authoritative" she started making the escort get taken aback.
"Major!"
"Unnie"
The two English speakers, Rosé and Taehyung who were present and understood what was happening were also shocked, about to protest against it.
"Why would you do that?" The escort asked as Jennie felt the urge to roll her eyes.
"Why do you think? It's a life at risk. I don't care if they are South Korean or not. He's your VIP for gods sake, shouldn't him being alive be your priority? Plus if he does die, the medical staff will be blamed for doing nothing either way" Jennie spoke to the escort, pausing before continuing.
"At least a chance of him is better than knowing he'll die if we don't do anything. And if that requires me to take the bloody fall, I'll do it. Get the surgery done now, we don't have much time" Jennie turned to Jisoo, and although hesitant, she complied and went into the theatre.
"All of you go outside except Jimin and Taehyung"
She ordered the soldiers who complied with a salute and left. The escort didn't protest anymore and let the operation go on.
"Send everyone out except three people, we can't have too many people in a medical space" she told the escorts who just agreed and followed.
"For all the medical staff, everyone who isn't inside or isn't going inside in expected to be outside as well" she told the medics who just left, not wanting to make the situation any worse than it was.
Jennie sighed frustratedly and ran a hand through her hair before going to a side with Jimin and Taehyung.
"Ask away, I know you're dying to" she told them as they both looked at each other.
"One by one" she added, noticing the fact that they were about to run an essay along her.
Okay firstly, what are you even doing here, aren't you supposed to be in Ethiopia" Jimin started as she sighed.
"Well, I got a call from Taehyung like... 6 hours ago explaining the encounter you had in the town. You know the one where you met the ex soldier who had turned into a gangster and was there, and so he told me that and I booked the first flight back knowing the situation would only worsen." Jennie started before continuing.
"And so I took a flight at 4:20, landed in Baghdad, and while I was on the way to get on the jet to bring me here, I get a call from the general saying this was happening, and since I was luckily on my way back, they told me to handle the situation, and so I took the jet, and lo and behold, I arrived at the same time shit was about to go down" she explained with a sigh as the two simply nodded along.
"Okay, and why did you take the fall? That was the thing the higher ups didn't want you to do with 'handling the situation'." Taehyung asked this time.
"Best outcome at that moment. We engage in a war here we engage a political war. We don't do anything, the medical team gets the blame and most likely would get fired. We wait, he dies. If I took the fall, at least something would get done. And I have faith in their skills, we just have to hope the VIP is strong enough" she explained, looking at the theatre.
"Hey no! Don't go past that!" Jennie ordered at one of the other escorts who was about to go near the theatre.
"You'll spread infection. Just wait for them to finish." She continued with a stern look as he had no other option but to listen.
"Okay back to this" Jennie said turning back to the two.
"Won't you get in trouble for this?" Taehyung asked as she nodded.
"Yeah, if he dies I will most definitely get fired, probably imprisoned a while, maybe even executed." She explained as Jimin raised his eyebrows.
"Yah now he really can't die" he said frustratedly.
"But if he lives, I still could get fired for acting like how I did. If not I'll get suspended or my pay would be docked, something of the sort" she said as Taehyung only leant against the wall.
"At least That's better than death right? Plus, you'll have us, we'll pay your bills till you get a new job" he said, trying to lighten the mood as she chuckled a little, although a desperate one.
"We can only hope for the best" she said looking towards the theatre.
