One of the things that become increasingly annoying as your classmates start to develop in their supernatural abilities is the fact that half of them are bound to gain a brilliant sense of smell.

In most cases, this is very beneficial. Werewolves start to merge their human benefits with the heightened senses of a wolf, thus being able to track better and recognize family on a deeper level.

Vampires could smell who had healthy blood, something that was originally used to track down prey (although hunting was considered barbaric today), but often made brilliant doctors because of this.

Incubi could pick up on pheromones, kind of like hormones but outside of the body, that illicit a social response. Pheromones are constantly released by everyone, telling us unconsciously how the other person is feeling. Being an incubus, I will eventually be able to purposefully release pheromones, mainly meant for inducing sexual arousal in others.

So obviously, there's a lot of benefits to gaining an increased sense of smell.

Here's the downside: you get horny, everyone will know. You get scared, or angry, or happy, or literally anything else, there will always be someone who can pick up on it.

This made quite a dilemma for me, you see. Kade's puffy rose lips, framed so beautifully by that sharp jaw and high cheekbones... damn, I could just imagine his eyes looking up at me while he was down on his knees, my dick down his throat. His hair had the perfect length for tugging too, but seeing how he probably put a lot of effort into it, I doubt he'd like that.

In an attempt to calm my rapidly growing boner, I tried to focus on what Mr. Garcia was saying.

"...so we will be starting with vampires. Form groups of four or five where you're sitting and come up with five words that incapsulate or describe this species. Don't worry about correct terminology, but don't be rude. You have two minutes, go!"

Nate quickly grabbed his notebook, gesturing for me and Esme to gather round. Two girls from the grade above us, Ravi's and Kade's class, turn around from their table to join ours.

"Okay, what do we got? Any ideas?", Nate opened the conversation.

"Blood, right?", I offered, and Nate wrote it down.

"What about fangs?", one of the girls said.

Nate wrote it down before chuckling and mumbling, "Coffin...", to which Esme shoved him.

"Sun.", she added.

"Okay, one last word. Emilia?", Nate directed the question to the one in the group who had not yet given an answer.

"Stake?", she said, sounding unsure.

"It's as good as anything.", Esme answered.

The class continued with Mr. Garcia asking for our answers before going through why each one was considered an indicator for vampires, and explaining the general biology of the species which often resulted in the aforementioned indicators.

Vampires are pale? Well, before modern technology and medicine were available, it wasn't uncommon for vampires to die from sun exposure. It wasn't until pills and ointments were made available to the public that vamps could walk in the sun at all. Modern science really had changed the whole direction of the species. If one attempted tanning today, they'd hurt but they definitely wouldn't die.

Towards the end of the class, Mr. Garcia walked around his desk to face the class.

"Each week we will be going through a new species, beginning with this kind of five-word exercise and then briefly discussing differences and similarities between each of the species. You should have some general knowledge of the physical attributes that make each species what it is, as you will be writing an essay on a species of your choice towards the end of this school year. Oh, and you're not allowed to write about your own predominant species! Class dismissed!"

The bell rang and dismissed us just as Mr. Garcia made his final statement, and mumbling and shuffling broke out in the small classroom as everybody packed up their stuff to hurry to lunch.

"I'm starving.", I said as we made our way through the corridor.

"Yeah, starving for some dick. Don't think I didn't notice you eyeing Kade in there."

I could feel my face reddening at Esme's remark.

"Don't say that!" I scream-whisper in a high voice, frantically looking around to see if Kade himself could have heard it.

"Wait, that Kade? The Kade we talked about this morning?", Nate chimed in.

"What other Kade do you think we could be talking about?", I continued my scream-whispering from before.

"Honey, I don't think you have to worry about your incubus side coming forth, you're already halfway there. I could practically hear you planning to drag him away."

"Esme! Shush!", I hiss as I attempt to put my hand over her mouth.

"Don't be so hard on the guy. I'm straight and even I think he's hot."

I thanked the gods for Nate coming to my defense as we pushed through the corridor and into the cafeteria.

"Don't put ideas into his poor incubus head, he could be running wild with the idea of a threesome as we speak.", she answered and I groaned.

"Do you have no boundaries, woman?", I ask as I grab a slice of lasagna.

Nate snorts and shook his head

"You know she doesn't."

"Sure I do! I'm enforcing new boundaries for myself this year, and I need you to keep me to them!"

"Depends, what are they?"

"No parties, no games, no nothing that interferes with my training. Ok?"

Esme had been a ballerina for as long as I'd known her, and she'd gotten quite good at it too. The Dance Theatre of Anitou, which she had been with since the start of Highschool, put up a yearly Christmas ballet, and Esme explained how she was aiming for one of the main roles.

"Hey Nate? She'd be the perfect Nutcracker, don't you think?", I chuckle, anticipating my own joke, "No one's a better ballbuster, right?"

Another day, another chapter! How do you imagine vampires, and does this lesson contradict what you'd think? What would you want Mr. Garcia to teach about next? Give your suggestions in the comments, and leave a vote if you liked the chapter!
