"Lia. Lia." I feel someone gently shaking me awake and I squint at the harsh sunlight I'm met with as I open my eyes, "Morning.", Dad says.

"Hey." I groan, rubbing my eyes.

"You wide awake now? Rearing and ready to go save Pepper?"

"And the president!", Rhodey chimes in from the front of the boat we're on.

"And the president,"

"Mhm." I jump up.

Before I can walk out of the room, he gently places a hand on my shoulder, stopping me, "Look, if you're not ready to fight or... Rhodey and I can always go it without you."

"You just don't want me fighting, do you?"

"Well... maybe." he shrugs, "Just promise you'll keep yourself safe, okay? Your life is worth much more than mine, don't get yourself hurt. Don't get into any trouble."

I smirk, "When do I ever?"

Somewhat content with his lame pep-talk, he turns to leave, before stopping in the doorway and slowly turning back to look at me, "Did you just steal my catchphrase?"

"I mean, technically, you stole mine first." I shrug with a smirk.

"Wow, wow, so you wanna be like that." he tuts and shakes his head, amused, "Not cool."

So, after some sneaking around and hiding from armed guards, we're making our way up a staircase toward the president, who is strung up over a vat of oil- barbaric, I know.

"Are your guns up?" Rhodey asks.

Dad quickly raises his, "Yep."

"I've got my hand up." I say, "I didn't get a gun."
