Chapter twenty six - Football

Mathew POV

I yawned as I forced myself to step in the football field. My eyes is heavy and I swear all I want to do now is to lay on my bed and take my rest.

Damn why does football practice fall on early in the morning? I can feel my eyes dropping but I forced to open it. I am sure coach will have my head after this practice.

Just as the coach whistle indicating that the practice is starting.

Shit! I have made several mistakes and now I am sure that coach will give me a good talk about my poor performance today.

I heard our coach called and I just hope that he is not in bad mode. I walked myself to face him. Just as I stopped in front of me. I studied his face reaction. He have grimace face that I know I am the reason why.

"You have bad performance kid!" He said to me.

"Sorry about that coach. I didn't sleep well last night. I will do my best tomorrow don't worry!" I said to him.

"I hope so. Is there's something bothering you?" He asked me. While looking deep into my eyes. One thing he is good at he can easily read your mind. "Girl problem?" He asked me. And it hits the jackpot.

"No sir!" I said to him.

"Good! Don't be disturb over things. Focus on the game. Girls won't lead you nowhere!" He told me.

"Ok sir!" I can only agree even I don't like the way he said it.

Some people are too keen for success, popularity and money. Who wouldn't? That's would everybody said right?

I do believe in perseverance and hard work. But I certainly not agree that women will not lead you nowhere. I respect every person especially women.

"Good! Hope you will perform tomorrow we'll ok?" He said to me and after that he dismissed me.

As I head on the changing room. Cole is already there waiting for me. I know he is worried about me. Who wouldn't? I mean I don't do it just once but more than it.

"You ok? " He asked me as he patted my back.

"I just lack of sleep, that's all!" I answered him.

"Yeah! I noticed the light on the living room last night. Is it you" He asked me.

"Hmmm I can't sleep last night! So I went down!"

"You should had wake me up! Is something wrong?" He asked me.

"Nah... It's just my feelings on a certain girl!" Making his eyes wide.

"You confess?" He asked me.

"Hmmm but got turn down at the same time!" I told him the bad news.

"Woah... Mathew Adam got turn down by a girl? That's new huh?" He told me. His eyes wide opened as if he can't believe what I said .

"Yup! What's so surprising about it?" I told him.

"Of course it's surprising cause most of the girls would fall on your feet!" He said to me "That feisty girl is really something huh?" He added.

"Yeah... But I don't have plan to give up. I mean she didn't know me better!" I told him and his eyes shimmering with pleased.

"Woah... You're really serious on her? What are your plans then?" He asked me. .

"I don't have plans for now. I just need to be stubborn and persuasive even more to break her walls!"

"You are planning to pursue her? Even if she rejected you?"

"Yup! No matter how many times she will rejected me. I will still keep persuading her till she say yes to me!" I said as I smile at my thoughts.

If she's stubborn then I will get to be. If that's only means for me to have her. I had never felt this way to anyone.

"Wow! Keep that feeling bro!" He said while laughing at me.

"So are you and Chloe?" I said wiggling my brows on him.

"Yup!" He said proudly at me. I can see happiness on his eyes.

"Good to hear that! At least one of us is happy!"

"Nah... I am planning to introduce her to my parents this coming Christmas break!" He told me and I smiled at him.

Thoughts flood in my mind. When will I ever have that kind of opportunity? I also want someone to introduce to my parents. I just hope my parents won't object me since they keep pinning me with their friends daughter's!

"That's nice!" I said as I walked inside the dressing room. "Good luck to that bro!" I said as I step on the shower room to clean myself.

After I finished washing I went outside immediately because I really wanted to go home. My class will start on ten so I still have one hour to sleep.

Just as I am in parking area I saw two figure talking to each other. But the more I came into view it's more than talking what I saw.

Just then the girl flipped over the guy with a fire lit on her eyes like she doesn't like talking to him. I walked closer and I can see it clearly with my two eyes. My eyes went wide as I saw Margaret harshly pushed Harold away from her.

"I told you to stop! I don't like you!" She said as she about to slap him. A slap echoed in the air and I winched since it will hurt like hell.

"Just give me a chance!"

"I don't give a fuck about chance because I don't give chances to a guy who will beat a girl. Now move or else you won't like I will do to you next!" She said to him.

Instead of listening to her warning Harold's grabbed her harshly. Before he could do something to her. I went next to them quickly as I grabbed her away from him. Making them snapped there attention to me.

"She said stop!" I told him as I tighten my hold on Margaret shoulder. "Respect the girl Harold!" I said to him.

He looked at me and turn away not uttering a single words. But before he can fully out of our sight he glance to us especially to Margaret. He gives her a flirty wink and boy I just want to smashed that stupid face.
