The Experiment

Chapter 3:

We ran down the hall way. I felt adrenaline pumping through my veins and I didn't care if I didn't get out of here because I at least would be put in my cell again knowing that some people cared or knew I existed. I stopped quickly the leader nearly bumping into me.

I look down the hallway and see two guards coming down it. I turned to the five and put my finger to my lips. They all nodded and they stayed silent. When the guards come to the corner.

I jump on one knocking him over and the other guard tried to swipe at me but I dodged it and punched him in the face easily knocking him out with my enhanced strength. I turned and see the other guard trying to get up but failing which I see my impact broke his ankle. " Your lucky I'm feeling generous today " I told him and knocked him unconscious by punching him in the face. 

I turn to see the group looking surprised at me. " I'll tell you later where I learned " I told them and without waiting for an answer I raced down the hallway with them hot on my heels.

"Left, Right, Left, Left, Straight" I thought as I tried to remember where the secret door was on the map they forced me to study in case their was an intruder. " Thought I was weak " I thought at their stupidity.

I turned the last left then I came face to face with the wall. "Tell me this?" I turn to see one of the strangers looking at me. I could actually feel their glare at me. "You led us all into a trap".Now that stung " No! I growled surprising some of them.

" Here is what I was leading you to" I said and put my hand on the wall and started feeling. Soon I found the little rift and I grabbed at it and the secret entrance finally was reveled leaving the five strangers shocked.

"Happy now" I asked bitterly. I pointed into the tunnel signaling them to walk in. I could already hear the guards coming with my enhanced hearing.

They walked in but I did not follow. " What are you doing" the leader asked me. I glanced at him and said "saving your butts" and then the guards came into view. They saw me and the strangers. The one up front lunged for me but I sidestepped and punched him into the face and grabbed his knife from it's sheath. 

I readied my stance and felt the stares of the strangers on my back. Before I could look behind me five guards ran up trying to hit me but I just sped my speed up and dodged them then knocked them out before they could blink. 

Suddenly I was knocked over and I look up seeing the blond scientist glaring at me. See picked me up by the collar and growled not seeing the secret entrance behind her. " Where are they". " Everywhere and Nowhere" I answered.

The scientist just growled and I see behind her that the strangers all were staring at me in shock.

I understood why though, it's not like I should protect them. But I know that after three years in this place that I could not let them be here. 

Being spit on,Being tortured ,and most of all having your freedom ripped from you then rubbed in your face.

Mine and the leaders eyes met and suddenly he jumped on the scientist off me and pinned her to a wall.

I stared at him with the others suddenly I remembered that the scientist put the enhanced chemicals inside herself just not as much like me. I saw her slowly lift her hand out of his view. 

Without thinking I ran up and pushed him out of the way with him stumbling then falling on his rear.

I easily grabbed the scientist fist that was inches from my face then I punched her in the face and she fell to the ground with a small trickle of blood falling down her face. 

The leader got up grabbed my hand gentler then I thought he could then I grabbed the wall once we were through the tunnel and sealed it off.

As soon as the door shut the other four yelled at him " What were you thinking"!

His glare quickly shut them up and he said " We came here to get her" he said pointing to me. " So we got her and she also saved our butts you know that right?

The other four nodded sullenly. " Good " was all the leader said as he led me down the tunnel as the others followed silently.

Once they were outside I see a big helicopter and the others quickly get on. The engine roared to life a few minutes later. A hand came into my vision and I look up and see the leader without a mask on holding his hand out to me. He had brown hair and deep jade color eyes.

Once I was on he said my names Nathon and those two he pointed two the two girls that one had blond hair with brown eyes and the other had black hair with blue near purple eyes. The first one is Barbra but call her Barb for short and that is Jennifer or Jen. 

I nodded and he continued and said "those two", one had blond hair with brown black eyes and the other was black hair with baby blue eyes, " are Jason or Jay and Daniel or Dan. I nodded and he asked " so what's your name. 

I thought back to before the capturing and said " Iris, It's Iris. He nodded and said " Welcome to the resistance Iris" as I stared out the window and the area that I was held captive for so long in fade into the barren landscape.

I was finally free.
