The large black car pulled up to the curb of the restaurant.. The woman who got out was a no nonsense kind of woman.. She had with her a black handbag, with a small black leather lock bag.. She stood waiting for a second.. Before sighing and poking her head back into the car.. "Get out." She said in a stern voice.. "Please would be nice." The twelve year old girl said as she climbed out to stand with the woman.. "You will get respect when you earn it." The woman said to her.. The men with them stood looking away with amused looks.. The woman then headed into the restaurant.. As they approached the doors, they were opened for them to enter.. The woman walked through without a word.. She was used to this, you could see it.. She had an aura of authority about herself, an assurance that she was never wrong.. The girl on the other hand was still new to all the attention.. "Thanks." She said, smiling at the men.. But they did not acknowledge that she had even spoken.. "Rude or what?" She said as she followed the woman.. The woman stopped to address the girl, before entering the room.. "They are the President of the United States Security team.. They are not here for a chit chat." She said to the girl.. "Really? I would have never guessed Mother." The girl replied.. "You are lucky they did not arrest you." The woman said, looking at the girl. "Why Mother. Because I stole some cigarettes?" The girl replied.. "Do not push me right now Florence Waller." The woman replied.. "Yes Madame Waller!" Florence said, saluting her.. "Would you like to eat out here with the security men?" Waller asked.. "Can I?" Florence asked.. "No!" Waller said entering the room with her Daughter..
"Amanda." Mr President said as she entered.. "Mr President.. I am so sorry Sir, My Daughter Florence.. We have a few issues with discipline." Amanda said.. "I understand, I have children. Hello Florence. What did you do?" He asked her. Trying to make her feel at ease with him.. "Hello Sir. I stole some cigarettes." Florence said with a grin. "A very bad crime I am sure." He said with a grin.. She smiled at him.. "Let me get straight to it, Sir." Amanda said.. "Yes, but please order first." He said to them.. "I think I will have the steak. Medium thank you." Mr President said.. "Same rare." Amanda said.. "I will have a burger cooked with fries, and a chocolate milkshake thanks." Florence said with a smile.. "Right, I think we are ready to begin then. What is it you want to share with me tonight?" Mr President asked.. He smiled at Florence again.. She took out her phone.. Amanda took it from her hand.. "No phones at the table." she said.. Florence glared at her Mother, then turned to smile at Mr President..
"The world changed when Superman flew across the sky. It then changed again when he didn't. That is why I am here." Amanda said.. "I like Superman." Florence said with a smile.. Amanda glared at the girl.. "Just saying." Florence said.. "So did I." Mr President said with a smile.. "But we lost a national treasure when he retired.. But you are looking like the cat that ate the canary." The President said watching Amanda.. "She always looks like that." Florence said with a giggle.. Amanda looked sideways at Florence.. "I've eaten a lot of canaries. It's taken some work. But I finally have them.. The worst of the worst." Amanda said with pride.. She throws a book on the table.. "There are rumors Amanda, that some of them have abilities?" Mr President asked.. "If Mother has something to do with it, it is a real possibility." Florence said smiling.. "The rumors are right." Amanda said giving Florence a sideways glance again.. "You know what the problem with a Meta-human is?" Amanda asked.. As she said this the food arrives.. Amanda eats some of her salad.. "Thank you so much." Florence said, smiling at the wait staff.. "Very nice manners." Mr President said smiling at her again.. "Mummy taught me well." Florence said smiling.. "Eat your food." Amanda said.. "But Mummy, we are waiting to hear what is wrong with a Meta-human?" Florence asked.. "The human side." Amanda said.. Florence dropped her head and smiled at her..
