Interviews

"Group two: Scarlett Anderson, Adam Banks, Alex Larson, Julie Gaffney, and Emily Turner. Please follow me, and we'll start up on the interviews." Lindsey wave us over while I turned to Aspen and mouthed 'Help' and she blew me a kiss.

"Alright, please take your seats. This'll be quick,
I'm just going to go through and ask you all a couple of questions each. Now, this interview is recorded, do any of you have any problems with that?"

"Get my good side." Emily smiled sweetly and I looked over from my seat next to Julie. "What good side?" I laughed and the Lindsey let out a small giggle before covering it up by clearing her throat.

"Okay. Let's start with you Miss. Anderson." She sat and I nodded biting the inside of my cheek. "You've recently been injured, at the Iceland game. First off, how're you feeling?"

"Well, I'm feeling as well as a person with a minor concussion can feel. Thank you for asking."

"I'm sending you my best wishes and fast healing." She smiled and I gave another thank you. "We've been told you have to sit out for an unknown amount of time. Alex Larson here, is filling in for you. Did you pick him as your fill in, or did your coach?"

"I picked him. Alex and I have known each other since grade school, and we were actually rival teams when we played peewee hockey. He was the first person that came to mind when I picked up the phone."

"That's wonderful. Now, who would you say you're closest to on the team?"

"That's difficult. I'm close to pretty much everyone. I've played with half of the team since I was very little, and the new recruits are amazing assets to the team, and amazing friends."

"If you had to pick one person?" She questioned and I thought. "Probably Aspen Johnson. We've known each other since we were very little and our families are very good friends. But, again, I'm really close with just about everyone."

"When you say 'just about everyone', you mean...?" Lindsey raised her eyebrows and I sighed. These interviewers really need an answer to everything. What's next? My life story?

"I just mean I'm closer with some than others."

"Alrighty, then. Now, this isn't your first interview. You've had an interview with a good reporter friend of mine at Eden Hall camp, where you stated that you play hockey 'not only because you love the sport, but to inspire girls and women of all ages and to let them know women can do anything'. Is that right?"

"Yes, it is. I joined the sport because I boy I used to know told me there was no way I could play hockey and that I wouldn't be able to, because I am a girl. I wanted to prove, to not only him, but to every male that females can anything just as well as they can."

"For some messed up reason there's a select amount of males out there who think females are only good for cooking, and cleaning, and to tend to them. But I think it's important for women and girls of all ages stick up for themselves and prove them wrong."

"That is truly empowering. You are doing a great thing, thank you for everything that your doing. Now one more question. Does anyone have the privilege to call you their girlfriend?" She smiled and I sighed thinking of an answer.

"There may or may not be a person." I shrugged and she gave me a little smile. "I won't budge any further then. Let's move on to Julie next."

She went down the line and asked everyone just about the same questions but just changed up a bit. The order went: Me, Julie, Alex, Adam and then Emily.

"There seems to be a bit of tension between you and Scarlett, Emily. Do either of you care to elaborate?"

I internally groaned, the whole interview I hoped they wouldn't bring anything like this up. How stupid was I to think that there was a chance they wouldn't? Clearly very stupid.
