It was the dead of night. The only thing illuminating the hillside was a dying fire painting the nearby grass red and orange.
Eve was furious at her humiliating defeat, but that was merely a temporary setback. She was going to capture that Nightwing.
Suddenly her necklace started glowing, and the black-scaled Seawing set the necklace onto the ground just as a large flame erupted from the center gem. The fire formed a wall and through the smoke a hooded dragon emerged. Eve bowed before her.
"Have you accomplished your mission?" the dragon asked.
"No my master, they were far more cunning and clever than expected. I must also inform you the seer Essence has had a prophecy, I am sure she is are key to finding the scavenger stone.
The hooded dragon paused, as if thinking, then spoke. "I have new orders for you. Take the Silkwing Swellow and the Sandwing Scorpion alive, as well perhaps torturing them in front of Essence will get her to be cooperative."
"Yes, my master."
"And one last thing, I will be sending you backup."
Another, smaller flame appeared, and this time a large Icewing with armoured talons appeared. His weapons seemed to glow. "I will be sending Stormbreaker to assist you in your task. Do not fail me."
"As you wish," the Seawing and Icewing said.
