One week. It's been a week and a half since Addison asked for the divorce and you would think she'd be depressed and sad, but she was actually ok with it. Her marriage with Derek finished a long time ago and she now accepted that. Everything was going well between Meredith and her so far and they were becoming friends, for real this time. Cristina, Izzie, Alex and George still didn't quite understand how and why, but they were ok with it.Meredith is still going out with Finn, even though she doesn't feel the same way he does, and Derek was still in the picture. Not by her choice though. She refused every time he asked her out and she reminded him, every time he flirted with her, that she was dating Finn. It was honestly starting to get annoying and exhausting, so she tried her best to avoid him. She couldn't say she didn't care for him anymore, that wouldn't be true, but she could say for sure that she wasn't completely in love with him anymore.
Right now, Meredith is doing rounds with the other inters and Bailey, but she doesn't feel well.
''Are you alright Doctor Grey?'' Bailey asked once outside the patient's room.
''Yeah, Doctor Bailey. I just...'' She sat down on a chair and at that moment she noticed Derek making his way to her. ''too much stress.''
''Doctor Grey, I'm clipping a basilar tip aneurysm. Any interest?'' Derek asked her.
''Thanks, but no.'' She replied quietly, turning to look away. In that moment she saw Addison coming in their direction.
''Grey.'' Addison nodded, but kept walking until she stopped next to Bailey. ''Doctor Bailey, can I get-'' She didn't finish what she was saying and let out a loud gasp, which caused everyone to look where she was looking.
'' Oh my god '' She whispered.
''Is that...?'' George started, and Cristina finished with 'McSteamy'.
''Oh. My. God.'' Derek said.
Meredith felt super nauseated and the next thing she knows, she's throwing up... oh and a patient caught on fire.
''You don't look good.'' Derek said.
''I'm fine.'' Meredith replied, walking with Cristina to the nurse's station.
''You're burning up.'' Derek insisted.
''I'm fine, Doctor Shepherd.'' Meredith said, a bit annoyed.
''Meredith, are you ok?'' Addison asked, stopping next to Meredith and Cristina.
''uhum.'' Meredith turned fully to look at her and smiled.
''You don't look fine.'' Derek said, trying to pull her attention back to him.
''Doctor Shepherd, don't you have aneurysms to clip?'' She snapped.
''or surgeons to confront?'' Cristina murmured, looking behind them at the chief and Doctor Sloan.
Derek hearing this, looked over his shoulder and then turned to Cristina and said, ''Will you look after her?''
''uhum.'' Cristina hummed, excited for the showdown.
Addison shook her head and looked back at Meredith.''Sure you're ok?'' She asked softly.
'' Yeah '' Meredith replied, not so convincing.
Addison, seeing that things were going to get out of control, excused herself from the girls and went to Derek and Mark. When the Chief saw her, he walked up the stair with Derek following behind.
''What are you doing here?'' Addison asked Mark, crossing her arms.
''I thought it was time for a change.'' Mark replied.
Meredith, Cristina and George stood there observing what was happening, until Meredith felt nauseated again and threw up. Addison seeing this, didn't even spare Mark a glance and went to her. While making her way to Meredith, Addison heard Cristina ask loudly if she was pregnant' and Addison's heart skipped a bit at that. Even though she knew Meredith and Derek weren't together anymore, just the idea of her being pregnant with his child made her lightheaded.
''Meredith, hey?'' Addison bent down to look her in the eyes, those beautiful baby blue eyes. ''Ok, huh?!'' She said sarcastically.
''Mer, you ok?'' Derek asked from behind her.
''I'm fine, Doctor Shepherd.'' Meredith rolled her eyes.
''You don't l-'' He started to say, but Addison beat him to the punch.
''Come on Mer. Let's take a look at you.'' Addison said, pulling Meredith along.
Derek made a move to follow, only to be stopped by Dr.Bailey. Meredith was really thankful, she did not want him there. So Addison, Cristina and Meredith went inside an exam room to see what was wrong.
''So who's the father?'' Cristina joked.
''Cristina.'' Meredith hissed.
''Sorry.'' Cristina murmured with a smirk.
''Ok Grey, what are you feeling?'' Addison asked, ignoring the joke.
''Fever, vomiting and abdominal pain.'' Meredith answered, curled up on the exam table.
''Sure you're not pregnant?'' Cristina asked.
''Cristina.'' Meredith warned angrily.
''Well, let's take a look at you.'' Addison said, while examining Meredith. ''Yang, bring the ultrasound machine closer, please.''
''I'm not pregnant... I can't be... I haven't....'' Meredith didn't finish, just let it hanging.
''Wait. You haven't... you and the vet haven't had sex yet?'' Cristina asked incredulous.
''No.'' Meredith snapped.
''So? What's wrong with her?'' Bailey asked, when she entered the room.
''Don't know yet... but she's not pregnant.'' Addison replied, looking at the ultrasound machine.
''Well, then we'll have to run more tests.'' Bailey said.
''Great. Now can I get some morphine?'' Meredith asked in pain.
