People say change is good. If you don't want to get stuck in time, you need to learn and adapt to changes so the wheel of life can keep turning. There was luggage by the door, that's the first thing Derek noticed when he entered the trailer in the morning.
''Addison?'' He called his wife's name.
''In here.'' The voice came quietly from the bedroom. Addison was sitting on the bed, leaning back on the wall.
''What's this?'' Derek asked, glancing between Addison and a folder that was on the bed.
When he was picking up the folder, Addison replied softly. ''Divorce papers.''
''What?'' Derek looked up at her, eyes wide.
''I've already signed them. I just need your signature now.'' She replied calmly.
''Why?'' He asked in a whisper, feeling a little lost.
''Why?'' Addison repeated, chuckling sarcastically. ''Derek, I can't... I can't do this anymore.'' She said, struggling to keep her voice even.
''Addison-'' He tried to speak, but Addison interrupted him.
''No, Derek!... Just don't.'' She shook her head. ''You don't love me anymore. So... just... please, just sign the papers.'' Addison said, her voice unsteady. Addison didn't wait for him to say anything, she just got up and made her way to the door.
''Addison-''
Addison stopped by the door and looked back at him. ''Goodbye Derek.'' And then she left.
When one moment you think everything is going to be fine only to realize that it actually won't, you really need to learn to adapt.
That's how Addison's day began, but of course it had to get worse. It couldn't be easy. No, no. It had to come with an outbreak and a baby being flushed down a toilet.
Whatever deities, gods, or higher beings that exist out there, at this moment, in this day, Addison hated them with all her might.
