Marriage is hard and a two-way street; And when one part is not present, the other may do harsh things to get their attention. The problem is that those things can cause so much trouble afterwards and then, destroy the little there was left of said marriage. However, if the two parts love each other, they'll work things through and fix the problem, together. Unless a third party gets involved, then the problem gets much bigger. Especially when one part of the couple gets more jealous because of the third party than his own wife.

''Are you sleeping with my husband?'' Addison asked Meredith.

''Not since before I knew he was married.'' Meredith answered softly.

While she walked through the hospital, Addison replayed over and over again her conversation with Meredith.

''Ok...'' Addison nodded and turned to leave, but hesitated. ''Except, you know, I just... It felt like... In the vet's office this morning and then in the elevator, it felt a little like you two were having a lover's quarrel?''.

''No... We're not. I've moved on. I'm dating Finn.'' Meredith replied.

''You're dating the vet?'' Addison asked slowly, starting to understand that Derek -Her husband- was jealous of his ex-girlfriend. All because she was dating someone else. '' Okay ''

'' Addison '' Meredith said softly.

''no, no, thanks. I'm... I'm good... Thanks. I'm great.'' Addison said as her eyes began to water and she turned to leave.

Yes, marriage is hard. Much more so when your husband is in love with someone else.

''Addison, please!'' Meredith got up and pulled Addison back inside the room while closing the door.

''Meredith, It's fine.'' Addison's voice was unsteady, and she had tears in her eyes.

''No, it isn't... I promise you I didn't sleep with him.'' Meredith shook her head.

''Ok.'' Addison nodded and wiped the damn tear that had escaped.

''I promise you, I don't wanna sleep with him.'' Meredith insisted. ''Especially not after he called me a w-'' She continued bitterly, but stopped short when she noticed what she was about to say.

Addison noticing this, asked gently ''Called you what?''

''Nothing.'' Meredith murmured and looked down.

''Meredith... called you what?'' Addison questioned.

''It doesn't matter.'' Meredith said, while playing with her fingers.

''Meredith...'' Addison lifted Meredith's face by her chin, making Meredith look her in the eyes and asked again, ''What did he call you?''

'' A whore '' Meredith whispered and closed her eyes in shame.

When Addison didn't say anything, Meredith opened her eyes, and what she saw there was nothing more than anger.

''He called you a whore... because you're dating Finn?'' Addison wasn't really asking, she was only trying to wrap her head around the absurdity of the situation. She looked up at the ceiling and closed her eyes.

Meredith didn't say a word and neither her nor Addison seemed to care that the older woman was still holding her face.

Addison looked back at Meredith, she gave her a sad smile and a nod; Then she left, leaving Meredith there trying to understand what the hell had just happened.

So yeah, everyone involved ends up hurt.
