⁴You're coming with me

Techno sighed as you sat in his room admiring his trinkets he had collected throughout the years

'How did it come to this'
He thought silently while you tried to hold up a slightly broken crossbow

You examined the item carefully, it looked like it went through plentiful of battles, nicked in a few places and scorch marks, but it looks a bit too big for your regular crossbow arrows

"Ewagh?"
Techno looked over to you with a questioning look

"Oh that old thing? What's so interesting about it, it's just a regular crossbow"
You pouted at him and pointed to the place where arrows were supposed to be loaded in

"Wagh!"
You exclaimed with your hoarse unusable voice

"Oh, well, I guess it really isn't just a regular crossbow"
Techno said as he went to sit down on the floor next to you, he reached for a sack where dozens of fireworks laid

"I use these instead of arrows"

You marvel at the thought of shooting fireworks at enemies, satisfied with the knowledge you gained on the crossbow you moved onto another item

You looked at his bag and then looked at Techno

He just sighed and nodded
"You've seen most of my inventory why not see the rest of it"

You smiled happily and opened his bag, you saw a few potions, some rations, and a single emerald with something carved into it

You took the emerald and see a string attached to it

'A necklace?'

You take it out but as soon as Techno sees it he gasps and takes it out of your hand, you panic fearing you've done something wrong and defensively cover yourself with your arms

You hear a sigh and footsteps coming towards you

'God why, I messed up again didn't I, I just met an adventurer, I've wanted to talk to an adventurer for years but I've messed it up, I don't want to go to the streets'
Your mind raced but you were quickly pulled out of it by a hand on your shoulder, the sudden contact making you flinch

"Kid open your eyes, don't worry I won't hurt you"
Technoblade said as he patted your head

'What?'

You open you eyes and see that he held out a hand where the emerald necklace rested

"You can check it out okay, just be sure to give it back, it's very special"

You look up at him and down at the necklace, still confused you got the notebook he gave you

[Why aren't you angry?]

He looked at you with a pitiful look

"you kind of remind me of myself"
the man with a skull mask whispered something you could barely make out, something he probably doesn't intend for you to hear

He quickly cleared his throat and removed his hand from your head
"I was kind of scared you'd steal it, but you just wanted to take a look so I'm not angry"

He looked away a little irritated but looked back and laid the necklace around your neck, letting it gently rest on you

You go to write something such as [what why?] But he interupts you

"Kid you wanna go on adventures? Kill a dragon or two?"

You both looked at eachother, your expression showed confusion and hesitation, but of course excitement floated in your sea of emotions

"GUCJK!"
You realize that your mute again and go to write

[YES]

The man infront of you chuckled
"Then adventurer buddy why not try out the outfit I gotcha"

You nod madly as he gets out clothes from a bag you haven't gone through yet

As he gives you it he smiles and says something you wouldn't dream in your wildest dreams
"Get ready quick, after lunch we'll get going on our journey"
