The Sarsaparillian Halloween

Fitting the puzzle pieces

Kristiana yelled at the top of her lungs. The Sarsaparilla tree branches wounded around her and took her out of my window.

"KRISTIANA" I screamed. I jumped out of the window. Someone caught me from behind.

"Leave me" I said trying to shake them off. I had to go after Kristiana. I broke myself from the person's grip to see it was Natalie. I don't have time to deal with her.

"Stop" she said, running after me.

I ran to the Sarsparilla to see Kristiana leaning on to Kristoff. I ran and engulfed her in a hug. She returned it,tired.

"Don't worry, Kristiana. I am here" Kristoff said, holding her shaking hand.

"What happened?" Eric asked.

"I don't know. The branches came and wound her. I was trying to save her but.....Natalie held me up"

"We were trying to clear up the Sarsaparilla tree again...We saw it zooming its branch and taking Kristiana. So,we used our powers and saved her"

"Thank god, you were all there. What would have happen if you weren't there?"

"I don't want to think about it" Cedric said, "Why did that girl hold you up?"

"I don't know" I said looking at Natalie.

"I was trying to save Ellie" Natalie said.

"Why are you following us?" I asked "I saw you hiding in the bush the other day"

"I was not" she said and went.

We looked at her and Eric spoke, "Let's get Kristiana to the Medical room"

From the shadows, emerged Ms. Ariel.

"I can't believe we got detention again" I groaned.

"Think about the good thing, we can discuss here without getting fear of overheard. The triplets got us the register we were asking" Cedric said.

"They got it?" I beamed.

"They came to our dorm after you left with Roger"

We went through the pages. We stopped when we saw Rishter's name. In it was written that he came to Gagenoble to attend a business proposal.

What a lie!

I could see another name in the register, five months back.

CELENE SHRILL.

I pointed the name.

"What was she doing at Gagenoble?" I asked.

"See the reason of visit is to threaten the head of the academy, how did they write that so openly?" Kristoff asked.

Cedric groaned.

"This is not getting us anywhere." He complained.

"How come?" Eric asked.

"How is that going to help us cure the others?"

"Roger's grandpa told that the time ball created by the time guardians can be the solution. He told me that, every time guardian trio has the same alphabet as starting"

"Wait. It means their names start with E?"

"Yup"

"Let's think, it's not Eric or anyone in truffles" Cedric said.

"They may be in another country or academy or not even in my age" I said.

"We need to find out. Then only, we can find out the cure"

"Kristiana said me that Athea is somehow related to the source" I said.

"but she won't tell me anything" Cedric said.

"I have a plan" Kristoff said smirking at us.

We sat around Cedric.

"This is one of the worst thing I have agreed to do" he said.

"SHHHH!" Kristoff said.

Athea was crying the corner.

"Athea, are you alright?" Eric asked.

"No, I am not. She promised she won't disease Cedric but she did"

"Who's she?"

"I can't tell you, not here."

I held Kristoff, Eric and Athea's hand.

I froze the time.

"Wow" she said.

"Now tell us"

"On the first day of the school, I saw someone digging the ground. She inserted something inside it. Her face was not visible, but she had brown hair. She told me that if I tell anyone, she will kill my brother. I cried and begged, she told that she will spare him from the disease if I didn't tell anyone about it. I promised, but I told about it to Mr. Rishter, he's my friend's uncle through my mobile. I knew him when I went to my friend's home for the vacations. I suspected Croci because she knew that i had a brother and she also had brown hair. I was going through her things to get clue, when she saw me searching her things and made a racket in front of many people. Next day, I was diseased. In my bed was a paper, 'If you want your brother to live, don't speak a word or try anything'.

She teared up. We told her that Cedric was just pretending to get the truth out. She smiled.

"I am glad that you fooled me. I feel relieved after talking" she said and smiled at the frozen Cedric.

"Have some bloodshake, it regains some power" Cedric said. I got it and emptied the content.

"I can't believe we found it out" Kristoff said, "the nurse also believed when we told her he's diseased and still believed when Cedric told it was just a fever"

"Who's the girl behind it?" Eric asked.

"It's a girl with brown hair. I thought it's Natalie, but she has black hair" I said.

"Why, Natalie?"

"She was suspicious though"

"Any girl we know with brown hair?"

"Kristiana" Cedric said.

"Don't even think about it" Kristoff threatened.

At night we sneaked to the Sarsaparilla again. This time, the dark version of Sarsaparilla didn't re grow. We completely destroyed it using our powers. We went to our dorm tired.

"Good night" I said and was about to leave when I saw Eric standing teary eyed.

"What happened?" I asked.

"It's nothing" he said.

"I know something's up"
