The Encounters

I kept my phone inside when I saw a board that read, "First years, follow the arrows and come to the Feast hall".

I entered the feast hall following the arrows. But to my surprise, the whole school was there. At least ,a total of 1000 students. I stood there dumb folded and when someone said," Hello. Are you a first year like me?" , I jumped.

I turned around to see a boy of my age, thirteen. He had dark hair and green eyes. He was wearing black coat and jeans. "Hi.....yeah.....I am a first year too..."

"My friends back home, are first years too...they left before me, but they are nowhere in sight now"

"I don't know anyone here"

"Uh...huh...I am Eric Bracer. Have you heard about the Bracers?"

"Of course, I have. Everyone knows about them. They are the ones who are funding Gagenoble" I said excited.

"Yeah" he said proudly," So, Who are you?"

"I am Ellie Meltone" I said confidently." And I am a water shadow"

His face fell. "Shadow?" he asked. I nodded. He looked disgusted.

He turned and left without a word. Tears filled my eyes. I turned around from the feast hall and ran outside when I fell into some one.

"Sorry" we both said at the same time.

I looked up to see a girl of my age. She had long dark brown hair and eyes. She was wearing a pink sweatshirt and black jeans.

She looked at me.

"Were you crying?"

"No" I lied.

She came and threw an arm around me. She guided me to a table at feast hall. She made me sit and looked at me concerned," Hey, Did something happen?"

"No, it's just that one of the people who I was talking to, stormed away disappointed when I told I was a shadow"

"You are a shadow?"

I nodded. Great. Now, she's going to walk away.

Instead she squealed. "I love shadows. I always wanted to be a shadow's friend!!! Who is the human in your family?"

"My mom"

"Oh, COOL!!"

"Who's the one who made you cry?" She asked her eyes concerned.

"You are not going to kill him, right?" I joked around.

"No promises there" She said giggling.

Someone tapped me on the shoulder.

"Ellie idiot, where were you? I was waiting all this time for you in the lobby!"

The girl I befriended sent him thin layer water manna straight at his face.

"Hey, what do you think you are doing?" My brother, Ethan shouted forming a water star shield.

"Teaching you manners" She said and looked at me." NO" I cried at the girl, "This is my brother, Ethan. He was not the one who made me cry"

She looked terrorized. "I am sorry" she said again and again to Ethan.

"It's fine. Now, I see you have made a friend, Ellie." Ethan told and looked at me, "Who made you cry? Tell me, I am going to make sure they never mess with you!"

"Calm down, Ethan... It's fine...oh....Shoot....the professors are coming" I said and we all went to our tables.

First, a man in blue shirt and black pants walked down the aisle. He had green eyes and red hair. Followed by him, were many teachers.

"That's Mr. Gray Herbertor. He's the head of the academy" my friend said pointing to the man in blue shirt and black pant. He looked around 40.
