"Trinnnnnnggggg-----Trinnnnggggg", the massive break bell in the school rang out loud.
"Thank you class for being patient enough to hear out my thoughts and keep learning and reading psychology", said Ms.Parvati before leaving the classroom.
Ms.Parvati had an extremely long psychology lecture of two and half hours which made everyone sleepy except Cheryl who was keen about the way Ms.Parvati taught and Oliver who was keen on staring at Ms.Cheryl.Mathews, his one-sided love.
As Ms.Parvati exited the classroom, everyone dashed towards the canteen, except for Felix, Michel and Oliver who waited for Cheryl and Catherine. The girls were still discussing psychology, sitting in their chairs.
The guys then went in to ask the girls whether or not they'll be accompanying  them to the canteen. "You guys still studying that tiresome boring subject? Ms. Parvati literally sucked the blood out of my brains...and those questions she asked aah!" said Michel in a sleepy annoyed tone and looked as though he actually had no blood left.
"Psychology suc--" said Felix and literally collapsed in the chair.
"Exactly, but I don't know why Cheryl loves psychology". "Coz it ain't reliable now to love people", replied Oliver instantly before Cheryl could say even a word, though Oliver was very eager to answer and make an impression in front of Cheryl, his voice was very calm and it felt like a waterfall of wisdom had just spoken. His words were clear, crisp and exactly what Cheryl wanted to say."Uhh, You are Oliver, right?" asked Cheryl pretending as if she had heard every introduction and knew everyone's names.
"Yes, I am Oliver James and you are Cheryl Mathews, a huge lover of psychology...and you Ms, are Catherine Shawns, a great musician", Oliver replied as if he knew everything about everyone in the group but didn't want to sound overconfident and hence, he said it in a really calm composed gentleman like manner.
"Woah!Woah!Woah! Hold up!", exclaimed Catherine.
"Wow Oliver! nice memory. I guess you were paying attention to the lecture, unlike many of us" joked Cheryl. "You yourself are a great poet and writer...or that's what I've heard. I would love to read your stuff someday, if you don't mind," said Cheryl showing maximum interest in the conversation.
"Ohh, one day for sure.... maybe, I don't know... I'm too nervous about sharing them!...Never made anyone read any of my works", replied Oliver somewhat shocked as he definitely hadn't expected to get asked about his writings on the very first day of school by the very girl he admired.
"Shall we leave for the break?" asked Michel holding his head in his hands, as if that's going to awaken the dead cells in his brain.
"Yeah sure!" replied Oliver and Cheryl together while laughing out loud.
The group of Five left for the canteen to enjoy their break and to know more stuff about each other.
As they walked towards the canteen hall, they saw every student with a cell phone in his/her hand and everyone exchanging numbers like it was some competition and the one to get  the maximum phone numbers won!
These five found a place to sit and they were the only ones to not have cellphones in their hands.
"So you guys got cell phones?" asked Oliver.
"Nahh, not wasting money on that shit!" replied Michel "Nor being fool enough to exchange numbers with these dumbheads" continued Felix "Not even bothering about any social media crap!" exclaimed Catherine. "No, Even I don't keep one!" replied Cheryl politely.
Oliver was stunned because till date he thought that not a single person could live without social media or cellphones.
"Hey Catherine, give me your number and social media handles bruh, we could chat and chill. I will even call you at night clubs bruh!" said a girl from Jennifer's gang. "Oh how could she...She doesn't have one HAHA XD" laughed another girl still making fun of Catherine and then left the place.
"Leave." requested Cheryl. "Yeah, Rich Br*ts," said Catherine annoyed by the girl's statement.
"You guys know what? We all come from the same condition and that's why maybe we could make a good group!" said Michel activating his energy level. "Yeah, but I'm gonna save up money this month and work enough to get one," said Catherine.
"I might save too" replied Felix. "I agree with you guys; though cellphones aren't everything to us, we need to have one for a lot of reasons. Cell phones do make a lot of things easier. I could get one for each of you guys, if you want", said Oliver trying to sound extremely humble and not showing his attitude like any other rich spoiled kid would have.
"Look here OJ, we are thankful for your support and even grateful for you being so generous but we are sufficient for ourselves and don't need your charity!" replied Cheryl being rude for the first time in her 18 years life.
"Sorry Cheryl... I hurt you. I didn't want to make you feel bad or anything, I just wanted to help a bit" replied Oliver, happy at first for being called by a nickname (also his pen name) to then instantly realizing that he hurt Cheryl and that almost broke his heart to pieces.
"No, thank YOU very much OJ!" exclaimed Catherine and stormed out of the canteen room. Cheryl too, followed her.
Oliver was crushed. He just was about to make some new friends but instead, he pissed them off on the first day itself.
"Don't worry mate, we know you had no intentions of doing that. Trust me, everyone in our group has always been low on finances but will never take help from anyone. You just should have been a little more careful with your words," said Felix.
"But forget it...I know we will all get out of this situation and soon buy that Dammnned phone," said Michel trying to sound all energetic and enthusiastic, now that psychology lecture was long done and his cells were getting back to normal, or at least that's what he felt.
Oliver just wanted to help but now, he was the one who felt very helpless.
