"Just kill me, someone, I want to die, I can't live now. I don't deserve to live. It's all over, I need peace, I'm tired of all this. God brings me to you. I am done with this stupid materialistic world!!" wept a voice from the corner of a massive bedroom. "I don't even have my mother...Mum..*sniff sniff* I have no one! Take me away pleasee!!!!!!" the sniveling voice still from the corner, wept and used another box of tissues. The voice was none other than Jennifer's! She was sitting in the corner of her room, her room which was full of the brightest of lights, seemed like the darkest place for her. Jennifer was alone all her life, she never got the love she wanted, the love she deserved. Her stepmother tried to do whatever she could but it never met Jennifer's expectations of "ideal love". She started sobbing even harder when she saw a text from Oliver saying "Hey, fine!? Call me when you feel fine! I am here. Call anytime. Everything alright?". She just wanted someone to confide to. But her actions made her regret doing all the things she'd done and she started hating herself. She regretted every action of hers. She imagined herself in place of Cheryl and started to howl even louder. Jennifer texted Oliver saying "Not quite alright, but I'm used to darkness and loneliness, HAHA" In response to this text, Oliver quickly called Jennifer then and there. Although he knew that Jennifer was the same girl who had bullied Cheryl; Cheryl who was everything to Oliver, his first crush. But, Oliver's sympathy was greater than his grudges and since he too, was a keen psychology student, he understood what had to be done now and how. It was midnight and Jennifer's phone rang, just as Oliver had texted that he was calling "right now". Jennifer, nervous at first, calmed herself a bit and went to pick up the call. She picked up the phone and greeted Oliver with a dull "Hello".
"Hey" responded Oliver in a hopeful and sympathetic voice. "You alright? You seem a bit low. Okay listen, I understand whatever happened with you wasn't right. But you must realize that you were more at fault. You understand what I'm saying, right?' asked Oliver trying to be as polite as physically possible for him. "Yes I know I was at fault. I did everything wrong, I was dumb and stupid! Someone, everyone kill me, now!!!!" screamed Jennifer with such intensity on the phone that Oliver's eardrums almost exploded and he felt deaf for a minute or two. Oliver shifted his phone from one ear to the other and replied calmly "Jennnifer, I'm here. Speak your heart out, scream, shout, cry, do whatever you want. I just really want you to be alright and want to know how you're feeling. Also, why did you do all that you've done?". Jennifer began with her story of how she was the only child and how due to her, her mother died. Jennifer was diagnosed with some sorts of liver and kidney disorders for which they needed a small part of the liver from a donor, but they couldn't find anyone. So, Jennifer's mother took it upon her and donated a part of her liver to save her daughter's life. But, the surgery was extremely complex and dangerous and unfortunately during the surgery, her mother's condition suddenly deteriorated and she lost her life. Her mom had asked the doctors to save Jennifer's life no matter what becomes of herself, obviously out of the immense love a mother has for her child. "You know Oliver, sometimes some Sacrifices just aren't worth it. Sometimes sacrifices just show us how wrong we were all the way from the very beginning!" When Oliver heard this, he suddenly recalled some of his own incidents and he started thinking if any of HIS sacrifices were worth it at all. The quote Jen had made got etched in Oliver's mind and he went speechless for a while, finally clearing his throat he replied "I can feel your pain. I understand how difficult it is to not have a mother, not have her love and feel like it's all your fault and blame yourself. But, always remember that YOU can only make your mother's sacrifice count by being good, a good child your mother would be proud of! Also, I'm sure your mom must've been really pretty!" exclaimed Oliver, stretching the last sentence so that Jennifer would open up more about her mother. "Yeah, a lot! I get my hazel brown eyes from her. She was prettier than the moon and happiness just always radiated on her face." "Do you have a picture of her? Do you mind showing it to me please?" asked Oliver keen yet calm. "Why not, check your inbox!" replied Jennifer. Oliver saw the picture of Jennifer's mother and was awestruck by how similar Jennifer looked to her. "She's beautiful!... So, you alright now? Feeling better?" asked Oliver after conversing for almost an hour and opening up to each other about their likes and dislikes. "Yeah, I just wish I could have you with me forever!" Jennifer had started falling for Oliver and she just admitted it in front of him! Oliver had no words to reply to this except say, "We can be friends forever.." Whatever had just happened, Oliver never expected it, nor saw that coming. A girl as arrogant and rude as Jennifer being so sensitive and polite! Oliver realized that Jennifer wasn't really bad or evil, she just needed someone since she had been alone all her life. In response to this, Oliver agreed and promised to stay with her till the end. They both wished each other a good night and before ending their pretty, wholesome 3-hour call, Jennifer joked that she would have actually kissed Oliver had he been beside her at that moment. Oliver felt relieved and relaxed that Jennifer was at least a bit fine than earlier and was happy he was able to help her.
