Alex laid in his bed and felt a dream coming up. He was alone in the fog, with his sword in his hand, he tried to look around, but the fog was thick. He then heard a growl, and saw a large shadow above him, he saw a pair of red glowing eyes stairing at him, he knew it was the Jabberwocky.

"Where's my mother?!" he demmanded.

"She's dead" the dragon said in a creepy dark voice.

"No!" Alex yelled "She's not!"

"She's dead!" the Jabberwock roared "And you should be too!"

And the red eyes disappeared. But Alex kept hearing it's voice.

"You're nothing but a coward!" the Jabberwock said "A stupid mad person like your mother!"

The eyes appeared in front of him again, but as he looked closer, he saw Lizzie's face.

"Coward!" she yelled "Off with your head!"

He saw her raise an ax and swung at him. He screamed as he woke up. He was relieved that it was just a dream, a nightmare actually. He fell back on his pillow and groaned.

In the morning, when everyone was having breafeast, Alex had a sad look on his face and he didn't even eat his breafeast.

"Alex" Lily said "Are you ok? You don't look good, and you haven't even eatened your breafeast, are you sick?"

"No" Alex mumbled.

"Then what's wrong?" Lily asked.

"I, I had a nightmare last night" he said.

"Oh" Maddie said "What happened?"

"I don't want to talk about it".

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah".

"Sure you do" Maddie said as she got up and went to him "Wanna tell me about it alone?"

Alex gave a sigh "I guess".

He followed Maddie onto the balcony.

"So what happened in your nightmare?" she asked.

"I was, well, in the fog, alone with the sword" he explained "I can't see anything, then I see these pair of red eyes stairing at me and I thought it was the Jabberwocky, it told me that my mother was dead and I should be too. It also told me that I was a coward, and a stupid mad person like my mother. I then looked closer and saw Lizzie's face, and she called me a coward and yelled off with my head, the last thing I saw was her raising an ax and swinging at me, and that's when I woke up".

"Oh my God" Maddie gasped.

"Maddie" Alex said "I, I don't think I want to do this anymore".

"What do you mean?" she asked.

"I mean, maybe Lizzie was right, I am a coward, and a stupid mad person".

"Alex, that was just a nightmare, it's not real".

"But what if it is? I might just get killed when I start battleing this Jabberwock, it'll be off with my head. And may be my mother really is dead".

"Alex, don't say that, you'll just make yourself more scared".

"I'm already scared, I've always been. Now that I think of it, I don't think I wanna battle the Jabberwocky anymore".

"But, what about your training? You were so good at it and you were determined to do it".

"That was just the beggining, not the real thing".

"But if you don't battle it, Wonderland wont be saved".

"I'll just loose anyway, either way, I don't think I'll be the hero Wonderland wants".

Alex then headed towards the door.

"Where are you going?" Maddie asked.

"I'm gonna go for a walk, alone. I'll be back, may be".

Maddie watched as Alex walked out of the castle and into the woods.

"I believe in you" she said.

As Alex walked in the Looking-Glass woods, he couldn't stop thinking of what happened. Fairies, Wonderland insects and animals watched and followed him as he sat against a tree. He kept thinking about the nightmare and what had happened. He felt hopeless that he couldn't slay the Jabberwocky. All of those thoughts made tears flow down his cheeks.

"Nothing is ever finished with tears" he turned and saw Cari hanging upside down on a tree, but she was in a cacoon and her top half showed.

"Cari?" Alex said "What's happening to you?"

"It's time for me to transform" she said.

"What?" Alex said "But, I need your help. I can't slay the Jabberwocky".

"All of those negative thoughts are just in your head, if you continue to think about them, you'll be more scared".

"But I'm already scared, and I don't know how I can save Wonderland".

"How can you help Wonderland if you can't even help yourself?"

"What?"

"You must keep your temper. Instead of thinking of those negative thoughts, think of positive ones. Like, I know you feel like a coward now, but everyone knows you're brave inside of you. You just have to feel it".

"I don't know if I can do that".

"Everyone believes you can do it, and if your mother was here, I bet she'll believe in you too. In fact, she felt the same way, she thought she couldn't do it, but once she learned to feel her true courage, she went up and did it, and she slayed the Jabberwocky and saved Wonderland. And now, you can too".

Alex thought for a moment.

"Try to discover who you really are. Are you a coward loser? Or a brave hero? And now, I must go".

"But-"

"I'll see you soon Alex, but I'll have wings. I wish you good luck, and I'll see you, in a new form".

Alex watched as the cacoon covered Cari's face. He sat there, thinking of what Cari said. He must learn to discover who he really is, and find his true courage.
