I was looking for Everleigh around the mansion. I asked one of the maids that works here and they said they didn't see her.

I frantically started going through each room, trying to locate her. "Aw fuck." I muttered as my head hit Chase's chest.

"What are you doing?"

"That fucking hurt." I rubbed my nose and sneezed.
"You could've watched where you were going."

"I could've said the same thing to you."

I rolled my eyes. "I was looking for Everleigh. Do you know where she is?" I asked him. He instantly went into panic mode.

"Is she not in her room?" He asked.

"No? Why the fuck would I be asking if she was in her room?"

"Cuzzo." He ran a hand through his hair before he started checking every room in the mansion. He yelled at the maids and guards to find Everleigh. [fuck]

Why is he overreacting?

She's probably somewhere wanting some alone time.

I started looking in the other direction Chase went. I couldn't find her and I have searched this entire fucking mansion now? Where the fuck did she go?

I went outside to see if she was playing outside, but no luck. I looked around the perimeters of the house. I heard muffled noises come from above and I looked up.

A treehouse I saw and a ladder was hanging down from it. I backed away to have more view of who's inside and I saw Everleigh and Chase sitting inside the treehouse.

Everleigh had her head against his chest as he tried to soothe her. Tears were dripping down from her eyes and Chase was trying to calm her down. I couldn't hear what they were talking about but whatever Chase said happened to work. She was giggling and wiping away her tears.

They were smiling and laughing. A smile formed on my face as I saw Chase starting to tickle Everleigh. I always wished I had a sibling I would do anything for.

I quickly went inside and informed everyone Everleigh is safe. They all released a deep breath. I went back outside and climbed the ladder.

"Is this where little Everleigh hides from the world?" I joked as I popped my head through the entrance.

"I thought you left." I went inside the treehouse. I could feel Chase looking at me.

"I wouldn't leave you." I reassured as someone helped me get settled on the fluffy rug. The treehouse was fairly huge but with Chase's big ass body it looked small. "I was looking for you but I couldn't find you anywhere."

"I come up here when I feel sad." She looked down.

"Don't be sad." I put my hand on her shoulder.

Easier said than done.

"Too much is happening right now. I just want to be able to talk to someone but everyone is busy. I wish Cara was alive." She whispered. I could see Chase turning his face away from me as his jaw clenched.
