JASMIN MARTINEZ

.•°•.•°•.•°•.

I was frustrated more than anything.

Fuck everything. Most importantly, fuck him.

Yesterday, after he cut the call on me, I slammed Xavier's phone across the room in pure frustration. I wasn't going to deal with his moody ass anymore.

I put on my robe and tied the waistband. I looked at my wet hair in the mirror and decided to let it air dry. I walked out of my bathroom into my bedroom sliding on my slippers.

The doctor hadn't approved of me getting off the stupid bed rest but I couldn't take it anymore. I felt disgusting in the same clothes and in bed all day long. My chest was a bit sore and I couldn't properly move my arm around without it not causing pain. I took some painkillers with water before taking my phone and leaving my bedroom.

Xavier had left yesterday, not before making me buy him a new phone on the spot. I slowly went down the stairs and into the kitchen.

"What are you doing out of bed?" My lovely mother examined from the living room.

"Trying to find food," I answered. "How are you feeling, Momma?"

"I'm better. I don't think the doctor-approved you yet."

"I know." I opened the refrigerator to see if I can make anything to eat.

"Jasmin Lane Martinez." Momma yelled.

Fuck.

"Damn, not my full name Momma." I looked back at her deadly glare.

"Go back upstairs."

"I feel fine Momma. Calm down." I made my way towards her. "I'm good."

"Baby, you know I don't like seeing you like this. Wh-Why did you take the bullet?" She asked as I took a seat beside her.

"He was going to die." I placed my head on her shoulder.

"You could've died."

"Doesn't matter," I whispered.

"Jasmin, what is wrong with you?" Everything.

"What would've you done if you were in my position?" I asked, taking my head off her shoulder.

"If he's a stranger to you as you say, I would have alerted him not take a bullet for him."

"I did." I defended. "But, it happened so quick that I had to take action."

"And, you went ahead and took a bullet for a stranger?" She gave me a pointed look and I knew she was trying to make me reveal my true feelings to her. But, I would do the same thing for anyone else as well.

No, you wouldn't.

"Yes, I did. I would've done the same thing for Xavier."

"He's not a stranger, is he?"

"Momma, I would do it for anyone." I sighed as I leaned back into the couch.
