yes, im obsessed with solangelo. who isnt? i thought about doing percabeth, but i might do that later.

this is a short chapter while you wait for the EXTREMELY long Maia pt 2 to come out.

Laura's POV

I was chilling at Starbucks with my girlfriends, when this guy walked in.

"OMG, Ash, do you see him?" Gloria Garner squealed. Ash Vera rolled her eyes.

"I'm not blind, thanks, Gloria. He isn't as hot as THAT boy," Ash replied, pointing to a guy who was sitting at a table alone. 

"He's pretty cute, Ash. But HIM," I said, pointing to another guy sitting at a table alone. He was looking at his phone. The phone looked super cool, but I didn't recognize the logo, which was a flame, and I couldn't read the name properly. Something like iLeo? I don't know.

"Ooooh," Gloria said. 

"Go get him, Laura!" Ash cheered. I started at her. "C'mon. You're really cute. You and him? Best couple ever. I bet he'll propose after like, 2 days of dating."

"Are you sure?" I asked. Ash nodded. I got up and walked to him. 

"Hi! I'm Laura." I stuck out my hand. The boy looked up from his phone and smiled. 

That smile...

"Will Solace," he replied. I smiled back at him, but I bet my smile was nowhere near as beautiful as his. 

"Do you want anything? I was going to get a frappuccino..." I lied. Will looked behind me.

"Um, no, I'm good," he answered. 

"Can I sit..?" I asked. Will nodded and looked back down at his phone. I saw Ash give me a thumbs up. 

"So..." I started.

"Yeah?" Will asked. 

"What do you like to do?" I asked, mentally cringing at how weird that sounded. 

Will raised his eyebrow. 

"I don't know. I worked at an infirmary at a camp for a long time, but I'm in college now," he said.

Sweet! He was around my age!

"What college do you go to?" I asked.

"Um, you won't know it," he responded. I nodded. (New Rome)

For some reason this conversation was getting really awkward. I saw Ash give me a worried look.

She got up and walked over.

"Hey, I'm Ash. Laura actually came here to ask you something!" Ash said. 

"Oh?" Will asked. I gulped. Why was asking someone out so hard?

"UmDoyouwannagooutwithmeImeanit'sfineifyoudon'tbutyeahomg," I said. Will raised his eyebrow and smiled.

That smileeee...

"Excuse me?" he asked, still smiling. 

"Do you wanna go out with me?" I repeated, clearer this time.

"Uh, well..." Will started.

"Yes??? OMG LAURA YOU HAVE A DATE!" Ash started singing.

Then a boy came over to our table. He looked questioningly at Will.

"Hey Nico," Will said. 

"Hey, Will" the boy said. He leaned forward and quickly kissed Will. 

"Did they get the house?" Will asked.

"Duh. I would've told you if they didn't. Piper is trying to force them to let her help renovate it, but Annabeth said that they're good. Honestly, you missed a whole fight. Jason and Percy were just sitting in the corner watching the whole thing," Nico said. 

Ash and I started at him. 

Will got up from his seat. 

"Well. I guess we have to go buy something stupid, expensive, and practically useless for when we go visit them at their new house," Will said.

Nico sighed. "Why is that even something people do?"

"You tell me. Why don't we just buy a fish tank and a fish for Percy?" Will said as they walked away hand in hand. 

Ash gaped at me.

I guess I wasn't the only one who fell for that smile.
