spoiler warning! 

chifuyu held a drinking party at his pet shop, and you as one of his employees, had been invited to come. you were roughly half an hour late. you were about to take a 10 minutes nap, which turned out to be 2 hours of nap.

you quickly got your bag and ran to the pet shop. you were thankful that your house were near the shop where you worked for. that way, you wouldn't have to be late for work. and now here you are, late for the drinking party because you had slept in.

you wore your boots as you opened your door harshly, you ran to the pet shop; careful enough to not fall since the road is slippy because it's winter.

you catched your breath for a few seconds before taking a deep breath as your hand reaches to the door knob and opened them gently.

"ah, y/n, you finally came!" chifuyu said as he waved his hand.

"sorry that i'm late." you bowed before coming inside the shop.

you took off your boots and put them on the side of the shop, not forgetting to hang your coat right after.

"no worries!" he smiled as he scooted to the side; giving space for you to sit at.

you thanked him before taking a seat beside him. chifuyu handed you a glass of beer as you accepted.

"cheers!" chifuyu and the other employee shouted, but still careful to not be too loud.

"since i don't have a girlfriend to celebrate christmas with, then i'll celebrate with you both!" he grinned.

"then go get a girlfriend. you literally won't stop messaging me if i didn't come." the other employee rolled her eyes.

"well.. the more the merrier right?" he said before taking a gulp of his drink; you did so too.

you sat there in silence as chifuyu and the other employee is basically laughing, who knows because of what. you starred at the framed photo of a long haired guy in the centre of the table.. you noticed it for a while since chifuyu had always cleaned that picture every single day and he took extra care to that.

you've always been curious to ask chifuyu, and without you realizing, the words just blurted out from your lips.

"chifuyu, who's that guy with long black hair?"

they both stopped talking, which now their attention is all on you. your eyes widen as your hand flew right to your mouth. you lowered your head in embarrassment, and guilty, of course.

"ah, his name's keisuke baji. he was my best friend." he smiled as he stares at the picture too.

"was? is he- wait, no. i'm sorry." you shut your mouth.

"no, no. don't feel guilty. i'd love to introduce baji-san to you."

"before you start, i knew he's an amazing person."

"is it obvious? he really is an amazing person!" chifuyu's eyes light up as he smiled by the thoughts of how amazing baji is.

"omg guys, i just remembered i brought uno. wanna play together?" the other employee changed the topic.

"sure." you replied.

and.. the three of you started playing uno together. after a while, you felt like the alcohol are finally getting through you. you could say you got drunk pretty easily, but you don't wanna be the boomer who didn't come just because you got drunk easily.

your vision became hazy as minutes pass by, and all you can see is you getting sleepy and drifted off to sleep quickly.

you woke up, feeling comfortable as ever. that's when you realize you were in someone's bed.

ah, you fell asleep earlier.

wait, someone's bed? you widened your eye as you sat up and looked around.

"ah, you're up." chifuyu said; wearing an apron as he brought a tray with a cup of warm water.

"eh? what time is it now?" you looked for your phone and found them on the side table. you tapped your phone a few times before the screen lit up, showing that it's 2 AM.

chifuyu put the warm water on the side table before returning to his kitchen to put the tray back. he went back to you as he took a seat on the bed; and you're still trying to process the situation.

"i know what you're about to ask. you're in my house and i didn't know where your house is, that's why i brought you here."

"did you do anything to-"

"no! i don't! why would i and i- i'm too embarrassed to do that, okay?" he looked to the side as his cheeks tinted red. "and please drink the water first.."

you gulped as you took the water and drank it. he looked at you before opening his mouth; but closing it after.

"do you need anything to say?" you asked; putting the cup back on the side table as you face him.

"i've been wanting to ask this for a while, um.. do you maybe... like me?" he asked.

"i what?"

"wait no! i didn't mean to make you uncomfortable but i've heard it from the other employees.. and you never really show any sign that you liked me when we talked.. it's just that i'm doubting if the rumors are true."

"and what if it's true?"

"then of course i'd be beyond happy!" 

"waitwaitwait- you just confessed that you like me!"

"wait- i didn't mean it like that! well i do like you but i didn't plan to confess first because i don't have the courage and i'll be embarrassed like crazy, but i just did!" he said, ears turning red.

god, how could someone be this cute.

"so you do like me?" you smiled.

"yeah.. well what do you think about me?" he asked back.

"you? well.. i think you're cool." you shrugged.

"no, not that way! like in a-"

"i'm joking! i like you too, fuyu." you smiled.

he bit his lips, trying to prevent himself to smile like crazy; which of course ended up failing.

"should we.. go out then?" he rubbed the back of his neck.

"that's not even a question!"

"ah, i'm one day late to celebrate christmas with my girlfriend. but baji-san and takemichi surely would be the first person to hear this news!" he said before scooting over to you and hugged you.

"we still have next year." you giggled.

"and even until the last christmas, i'll spend it with you."
