Hiccup's POV

--Next day--

"So, when do you wanna start?" I asked Astrid, closing the door of my room.

She sat on my bed and shrugged her shoulders.

"Okay then..." I said, walking towards my desk and pulling out the chair.

I sat on it and leaned forward on the back of the chair.

Astrid was now on her iPad, probably looking for ideas.

"How about making a Hygrometer?" She said looking up at me.

My face must've said what I was thinking when she said "You have no idea what that is, do you?"

I shook my head and she walked over to me, turning the tablet so I could see it.

"Turn on your laptop and I'll send you the link," she said, walking back to the bed "what's your email?"

"Erm, Hiccup.Haddock@UnionHigh.com." I told her, repositioning myself on the chair so I was facing the desk, turning on my laptop.

After typing in my password I got up and walked towards my bathroom. "Back in a min," I said and walked in, closing the door behind me.

I went to the sink and washed my hands before I took out my contacts which were now starting to irritate my eyes.

I threw them into the small bin and opened the cabinet, taking out my glasses and putting them on.

I went back to my room, only to be greeted by a surprised Astrid.

I sat down at the desk and opened firefox.

"Glasses, really?" She asked, surprised.

"Yeah, I need them to see, why?" I replied.

"I just didn't see you as a glasses kind of guy." She laughed and turned back to her iPad.

I checked my emails, seeing the one from Astrid at the top.

I was about to click it when I saw the one beneath.

Stoick Haddock.

I opened it and saw a long detailed letter from him. I scrolled to the bottom to see the update on when he was comming home.

Being the principal of a boarding school, I didnt really get to see him much. But when he wasnt at Berkian Academy, he was here, trying to make up any time he'd lost.

Ill be comming home for the hollidays, so we'll be able to catch up on everything; school, home, girlfriends ;)

I laughed at the last part. As if I was ever gonna get one of those.

I closed the email and opened Astrid's one, clicking on the link that transported me to a website on how to make a hygrometer.

"Okay, so what are we gonna do with this then?" I asked.

"Well, I was thinking, we could make it and then write a bit about how it works and whats its used for, you know, that sort of stuff." she said.

"Okay, so should we start on the writing..."I started.

The door opened and my mom walked in, carrying a pack of cookies and two soda cans.

"Hey Hiccup, I got the snacks you wanted. where should I put th... what's wrong?" she started but then changed the subject.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"You look Suprised." she stated.

"Yeah," I replied "coz I never thought you'd actually bright them."
