Hiccup's POV
I was sitting in English class, supporting my head with my hand, staring at the back of Astrid's head.
she had the most beautiful hair I've ever seen.
and her voice... and those eyes.
Astrid's POV
I could feel a pair of eyes on me from behind.
I turned to see who was staring at me and saw the boy with messy brown hair from lunch melting into the desk.
I felt the blood rush up to my face and turned around quickly.
suddenly the desk behind me jolted and books fell on the floor.
I heard him mutter something.
a pencil rolled to the side of my seat. I picked it up and turned to give it to him.
"thanks," he said, bright red.
I giggled.
wait... did I just giggle?
"Mr Haddock, why do you always have to find a way to disrupt the class?" asked the English teacher. I still couldn't remember his name.
"sorry Mr Finch, it won't happen again." he said from behind.
the lesson continued.
"homework!" announced Mr Finch.
he walked around collecting in, what looked like, assignments.
he stopped at me. "Miss Hofferson, I don't expect any homework from you yet, but if you fail to hand any in, I will treat you just as strictly as the others." he said and resumed walking towards the back of the room.
"Mr Haddock, homework please." he said to the boy behind.
he muffled something barely audible.
"Speak up Mr Haddock!" he demanded.
"dragon ate it." he said.
the whole class, including me, burst out laughing.
"you really expect me to believe that?!" he asked "detention, Friday, after school, one hour." he told him fiercely and continued collecting homework.
I turned to face him.
"did your dragon really eat your homework." I asked
he pulled out a mangled piece of paper that was once covered with goo.
I laughed. "don't sweat it, I've got a crazy dragon too." I comforted him.
Hiccup's POV
she's into dragons too?! wow, this girl is amazing.
"you know," I started "you have really pretty..." I was cut off by Mr Finch.
"Miss Hofferson, do you think it's ok to turn around while the teacher is collecting homework and talk?" he asked Astrid.
she turned around. "good move," I whispered "last time someone answered one of those questions they got it..bad. they're usually rhetorical."
"Well, Mr Haddock, seeing as you and the new girl like talking so much, she can join you on Friday." he said.
"what?!" we exclaimed in unison, too quiet for him to hear.
"sorry," I whispered to her.
"dude, that's not fair." said Jack from my left.
