Chapter 12: Familiar Faces

"That was one crazy battle," Raph said while holding an ice pack on his head.

"Tell me about it, that Infinite guy was almost as powerful as Shredder." Mikey inquiried.

"All that matters is that we made it out of the fight alive, but something tells me that he'll be back one day," Leo said while wrapping a bandage on Sonic's injury.

"Not to mention the fact that he was more powerful than the last time I fought him." Sonic inquiried.

"That could be why we didn't see him for a long time, he was probably preparing to attack us again but failed once Metal Sonic stepped in," Amy said to them.

"Speaking of Metal, how are the repairs on him going?" Sonic asked.

"Donnie and Tails have already taken him to the basement, hopefully, once he's fixed, he'll tell us more about this Phantom Ruby," Leo answered him.

"If you ask me, it sounds like it could be that mask he wears, it did glow a lot during the battle," Raph said.

"I think it was that jewel on his chest, Metal Sonic struck him there and Infinite started to glitch like crazy right after," Sonic replied.

"So what does the mask do? Help control his powers?" Raph asked him.

"If the Phantom Ruby is the source of Infinite's powers, then for us to defeat him, is to get that jewel off of him," Leo said as he finished treating Sonic's injury and stood up straight.

"How are we going to take a jewel off of someone's chest?" Raph queried. "Because if you ask me, we could hardly get more than two feet close to him before he blasted us into space." He pointed out.

"We'll have to carefully plan this, who knows if he's already gone to Eggman and formed an alliance with him," Sonic replied.

"Not until Metal tells us about the Phantom Ruby, otherwise if we try to blindly attack Infinite now, he'll make sure we won't make it out alive," Leo said to Sonic.

"You'd better come out here, quick!" Sticks exclaimed as she suddenly swung the door open.

"Oh boy..." Sonic sighed. "What is it Sticks?" He questioned the brown badger.

"There are aliens dressed in red and another one who can turn into a snake out there near the beach!" Sticks reported.

'Wait, dressed in red with someone turning into a snake?' Leo wondered, confused about what Sticks was talking about.

"Where did they come from?" Raph asked her.

"They came from the sky and attacked me the second they landed!" Sticks answered.

Leo glanced out the window, seeing someone familiar wearing silver armor with a girl with long purple hair and wearing a witch's hat with black clothes.

"Those aren't aliens, that's Karai, Shinigami, and the Footclan!" Leo said and ran out of Amy's house.

Karai, Shinigami, and a few of their Foot Soldiers were being surrounded by some of the Mobians who had curious looks on their faces while Karai was halfway in her snake form, hissing at the Mobians.

"Karai!" Leo called out.

Everyone glanced in Leo's direction while Sonic, Sticks, Raph, Mikey, Amy, and Knuckles followed him towards the two girls and Foot Soldiers.

"Hold on, you know them?" Sonic questioned Leo.

"Long story," Leo said.

"I suppose you won't mind getting these animal freaks away from us, Leo?" Karai questioned, agitated at the crowd of Mobians.
