This Head-canon AU is regarded as a special chapter. The AU randomly selected is: "Gender Swap"!

Head-canon: Gender Swap AU! (Part 1/3)

- Kaitou KID is a female and Reader is a male (was previously a girl).
- During one of KID's heists- while he was being chased by Detective y/n and Conan, all three had came face-to-face with the criminal syndicate that 'poisoned' Shinichi to his younger self which is Conan.
- Calling on a temporary truce, the trio try to drive away the criminal syndicate.
- However before the criminal syndicate could surrender. They threw a smoke bomb that Conan/Shinichi tried to warn y/n and Kaitou about.
- Making their escape, the criminal syndicate had left the scene. But what was left behind where the confused teens.
- Conan was not effected by the smoke due to his soccer ball turning into a shield.
- Conan walked towards the two, however he didn't expect y/n to look rather masculine and KID so feminine.
- On closer inspection, y/n was taller than KID currently and had a slim body with broader shoulders. Way more different than her curvy, 5 foot 2 normal self.
- KID had shrunk to the average height of a teenage girl. His jawline not as sharp as before although his body had developed a more feminine physique. Not the slim and tall man that Conan once saw but now the short and curvy - dare he say- woman!

Conan: y/n?! Kaitou KID??! Oh no

- When y/n and Kaito KID waved and coughed out the smoke, they had asked Conan what was wrong. The tone of their voices didn't go unnoticed by the trio.

y/n: Why is my voice so deep?!
Kaitou Kid: Why is my voice so high pitched?!

- Conan sighed and explain his theory. Saying that maybe the criminal syndicate had developed a new poison - one that did not make a person revert back to their younger self like him, but rather the opposite gender of themselves.
- Conan asked them to both go with him to Agase's lab. While Kaitou was reluctant he needs a cure. How would he go about his daily life if not without that cure.
- y/n wasn't all that bothered but realised that Kaitou KID's identity would be revealed.
- It seems Kaitou KID has realised this too. So before going along with them he makes strikes up a deal.

Kaitou KID: If I go with you, you both and everyone we meet that's going to help y/n and me would have to swear to secrecy and tell no one of my identity. If not that, then I'll have to hide my identity while we find a way to cure us.

Conan: Huh?! What makes you think-

y/n: Sure.

Conan: y/n! You just can't!

y/n: But in return you will stop being Kaitou KID.

- Both Kaitou KID and Conan were shocked. But KID couldn't agree to those terms, so he had to compromise.

Kaitou KID: Unfortunately, I can't do that. I have a mission I must carry out.

- KID's body language spoke volumes to y/n and she understood that his intent was pure.

y/n: Alright then..so how about instead- you can stop stealing for 2 weeks. We seriously need a vacation.

- Conan deadpanned but nodded to the terms. While he may have not understood why y/n let go of the opportunity to discover his identity- he does know that y/n really does have a reason of everything she does.
