"I heard from the police officers! Is it true? Are you really coming to Japan?!"

"Ran...yes I am. The Interpol practically forced me to!"

"But still! Isn't it great?! I finally get to see you again."

"I suppose so. How's Shinichi and the others? Are they well?"

"They're all fine! Not so sure about that Detective Geek, I haven't seen him in a while."

"I see.. well I look forward to seeing you and this "Conan-kun" I keep reading about in your letters."

"You'll really like him! He's a detective - just like you and Shinichi!"

"Well then, we'll see. See you soon, Ran."

"Bye, f/n!"

[Hangs up call].

It didn't take you long to pack your things last night, and the Interpol had already booked your one-way ticket flight to Japan - so you were all set.

"Well, at least it's first-class", you sighed and boarded your flight. The flight staff had loaded your suitcases in the luggage carrier and all that was left in your hands were your sling bag that can also be worn as a knapsack/backpack. You had your phone, information cards, money, and more inside, but most importantly - you had Kaitou 1412 case file. The Interpol had sent them over as well as your letter of transfer to Japan. While, you were happy to see your friends, like Ran, what you dreaded was the jet lag that would probably be the outcome of the long flight.

"And they expect me to get to it ASAP..how annoying", you mumbled and huffed with the ridiculousness of the Interpol. Like.. can't a girl ever catch a break? They're all so demanding. But, you do like being a detective - It's a great excuse to meet all sorts of people and be more sociable than what you portray yourself to be. Your co-workers in London were always quick to make judgments based on first impressions alone. A person can grow and also evolve - maybe into the kind of person you wouldn't perceive them to be just at first glance. But humans fear what's odd and don't tap into things that don't involve them..well some of them anyway. You have always been a curious child and that curiosity has led you down this path. You didn't mind it but sometimes you'd wonder what's it like to be a normal teenage girl. You've had your fair shares of being envious of others: wanting to have such a carefree life, with romance, with a family...

The reason you were placed in London, was because of your parents' will. Everything was planned and paid for - all that was left was to move and adapt. Now that you're independent and know the hardships of adulthood even at the age that you are - you have at least a bit of freedom that others don't. Staring at Kaitou KID's case file, you read through reports and some sightings, trying to figure out a pattern. "It seems to be completely random...or rather, relevant to the time that the jewels are publicised", you mumble to yourself and read further. "Kaitou KID's Background?", your eyes scroll through and read about his disappearance and his reappearance of almost a decade difference. "After all these years..why now?", you pondered more and came up with some assumptions. "Well for one - it's a wannabe or maybe a successor to the original..it surely can't be the original - he'd be a bit old to move that swiftly but it's also a possibility" you sighed and closed the case file. "I guess I'll have to meet him in person", you smirked and chuckled. You're eager to unmask him but everything happens in due time. "I'll make sure he underestimates me- after all, it'll be easier to get to him when his guard is down", you hummed and decided to sleep the rest of the flight.

"ACHOO!".

"Eww!! Kaito!".
