-Greenie-

The alarm rang through the Glade and maze as the distant sound of concrete came to a stop. Another month in the glade, another greenie and supplies. Ben and I entered the glade from a run in the maze. "Go ahead to the map room, I'm going over to find Alby." Ben only nodded, out of breath from the run and the glaring sun didn't help.

"Minho!" the twelve year old kid who I came to know as Aziel came running to me. He was the youngest in the Glade having only been brought up last month. "Hey kid." I ruffled his hair in greeting. "How was the maze?" Aziel asked his usual question. For whatever reason, he's always been attached to me. Said I was familiar to him somehow. Maybe I met him before the Glade but I started treating like he was my own kid or younger brother.

"Oh the usual, memorising routes, running from Grievers. The usual." Okay I might have exaggerated the Grievers part since they don't come out in the day much and we avoid them as much as we can, but it can't hurt to make myself sound cooler.

His eyes glistened in awe like always, "Once I grow bigger and stronger, I'll join you in the maze and together we will find a way out with everyone!" I chuckled at his dreams but I can't exactly will myself to crush them. I guess when the time comes, I'll have to protect him with everything I got. Shuck, I'll risk my life for him. He brought hope in me again. One I thought I lost almost a year ago, yet he brought it back. And I'm not ready to let that go.

Before I could reply to him though, the boys that were all crowded around the Box as usual when it came up seemed to be making more commotion than usual. Odd. I made my way around the crowd towards the watchtower, hoping to find Alby there.

"We got a runner!"

"Minho!" I could hear Alby's unsaid order as I sprint towards the blurring figure. They were creeping uncomfortably close towards the door so I did the only thing I could, run faster. They suddenly stopped before the doors. Their sudden stop caught me off guard, causing me to collapse onto them and trap them under me.

I took my chance to look at the greenie, realising they're a girl. Familiar pretty (e/c) eyes stared up at me. Face slightly dirty but she's pretty nonetheless, though that might be because she's the first girl I've seen as far as I can remember.

"Trust me Greenie. You don't want to go in there." My voice could finally work after snapping out of my trance. My world suddenly blurred as I felt her leg hook around mine, switching our position. "I don't need to trust you to know that place isn't where I need to go yet." my breath got caught in my throat as I stared up at her. That might be because she's straddling my chest though. Not that she's fat or anything!

"Minho! Greenie!" Alby and Newt approach us. My body could finally move when she got off me. "You good mate?" Newt nods towards me as I stood up, brushing off stray grass blades. "Yeah...Yeah no problems." I gave him a tight lip smile. Newt looked at me weirdly but shrugged it off, "Quite a show you put on huh, Greenie?" Newt commented, turning his attention to the girl.

"I'm Newt, the second in command here in the Glade. And this Alby, the first in command." Newt pats Alby on the back. The girl only nods, "I'm ... mmn" She frowns her brows and it was absolutely adorable- and her voice!- Ahem.

"Don't strain it too much, Greenie. You would most likely remember your name in two to three days' time. Everyone's been through it." Alby pats her shoulder reassuringly. "Newt go ahead and give the Greenie a tour. I need to talk with Minho for a bit." Newt nods, giving her a 'follow me' gesture before they make their way further into the Glade.

I stare at their disappearing figures, mainly the Greenie's. "You good man? Didn't hit your head right?" Alby nudges me with his elbow. "Dude, I might be in love." I faced Alby with a shocked expression. Alby only laughed, "Alby I'm serious. I mean, have you seen her? And- And she just...seems so familiar." I gestured outwards to the disappeared Greenie. "Familiar? Like- What do you mean?" Alby wanted to joke at first until he realised. "Like- I don't know! But I have this feeling I know her!" I tried to connect my words but I've never felt this way. As far as I can remember anyways.

"Shuck... You know what this could mean right? Like maybe you knew her before the Glade or something. Maybe this can help us get out!" Alby exclaimed. I only shook my head, "How would remembering a girl I MAYBE know before save us from this cage?" Frustrated and confused, Alby came up with more theories as I made my way to the Deadheads, hoping to get away from Alby and clear my thoughts. "Where you go 'in?" I could hear Alby shout from a distance, "Away!" I responded back, Shaking my head to try and clear the upcoming headache.

I continued my way to the Deadheads, although it's a graveyard, the forest was still nice, but I stopped halfway beside Aziel. He was staring at the Greenie, who just entered the Bloodhouse, from afar. "You okay kid?" I pat his head, snapping him out of his daze. Aziel nodded up at me before focusing back on the Greenie, "Yeah... she just seems... familiar..." Aziel trailed off. I frowned my brow at him.

Coincidence?
