Chapter 11: New fight

I went down the mountain, looking for any traces of Aziel. "Aziel? Aziel, it's me!" I call out into the open. "Mom?" I hear a small voice from inside a broken down car. "Aziel." I sigh out of relief, rushing over and giving him a big hug. "Mom! You're okay!" Aziel weeps into my shoulders.

"Yeah. Yeah, I'm okay. I'm here now buddy." I hug him tightly, as if he would be taken away as well. "Where's dad?" Aziel broke the hug, looking around for any signs of Minho. I pursed my lips, eyes watering at the memory. "Mom, where's dad?" Aziel repeated.

"They took him away. They took him instead of me." I revealed. "No, no, they couldn't have taken him. Dad's big and strong. They can't just take him." Aziel denied, shaking his head. "Hey, hey, it's alright? Okay? Mommy is going to get him back. I promise." I reassured him.

"But it's dangerous." Aziel argued. "Yeah, well what your dad did was dangerous and stupid as well." I rebutted. "Can I help?" Aziel asked. "Let's see what you can do to help later. We need to get back to the guys." I nodded, ushering Aziel back up the mountain to regroup with the Gladers.

"We get you kids to the safe haven. Then we start over, I guess." I hear Vince tell the others as I grab the bag I had previously packed before looking for Aziel. "I- or no, We are not going with you." I spoke up, clutching Aziel's hand in mine.

"What?" Vince furrowed his brows in confusion at me. "Minho and I promised to always come back to each other back in the Glade but he can't exactly do that now. I have to go after him. Wicked took him away from me twice now. I can't lose him forever." I explained.

"Hey, kid, look around you. Alright? Wicked just kicked our ass. You think about where you're headed. You got a child with you as well, think about him." Vince reasons with me. "I'm not asking you to come with us. We both agreed, no matter what, we are getting Minho back." I was ready to repay the sacrifices Minho gave for me.

"(y/n), listen to me. I've known Minho for... Well, as long as I can remember. So, if there was any way that we could help him, trust me, I would be up there standing next to you. This, what you're talking about, is impossible." Newt tries to convince me.

"More like suicide." Jorge commented. "Yeah? Well so is being a captain in Wicked at the age of 15. Maybe I might die. But I know what I'm supposed to do now." I retorted. "This is not just about Minho. It's about all of us. It's about everyone Wicked's ever taken, everyone they will take. They'll never stop, so you're gonna stop them." Thomas realises.

"I'm gonna put an end to Wicked. Kill Ava Paige if I have to. I'll make sure Minho is the last to fall victim to Wicked's schemes." I concluded. "I'll have to admit, I'd like some revenge." Harriet backs me up.

"Well, that's a good speech, kid. So, what's your plan?" Vince asks.
