CHEVEYO'S POV

Life was created for all to have and for all to enjoy. For even the smallest of creature has been given a purpose. But what happens when purpose is misinterpreted? When we as man twist and turn it in such a way that best suits our desire and greed for power. We as men are then left with war and strife, deaths and regrets. This remains the outcome of men self servient minds, and also what has given birth to the atrocities of our people.

Glass shattered, as howls marooned the evening ambiance, like fire crackers welcoming in the new year. Children screamed as mothers tried to protect, as fathers and sons defend. The massacre had already begun and the enemy seemed as hungry for victory as we were. Their attack was sudden, we were all taken off guard, we were not expecting an attack this daring. Thank the heavens we were at least prepared, allowing our people to react quickly.

THIRD PERSON POV

ONE HOUR BEFORE THE ATTACK

Jason made his way to the northern perimeter of the border in hopes of finding his former Gamma. And yet his mind was preoccupied, by the scent he had picked up on earlier at the Studi's residence. Zenith's response was no different from any other time they had crossed each others path. In fact, it would have been weird if he had reacted differently. But still, with the threat of an attack shouldn't he have been a bit more concerned about the idea of a strange scent lingering. These thoughts remained a constant on the young man's mind, he may very well had been mistaken, but was it safe to pass it off as just that, a mistake. Still pondering over the unexplainable it wasn't long until the man had gotten to his destination, and just as he was told, Cheveyo stood a few feet away speaking to a few of the warriors.

Approaching the group, he needed not to try and divert the man's attention. For it took only one step in his direction before he had locked gaze with the younger wolf. Only now arms length apart, the younger of the two slightly lowered his head, a display of respect to the older man. And with formalities now past, he had to state his purpose.  Shortly after receiving the message, Cheveyo informed the group of warriors of his departure. After which he and the young lad headed for the village center to meet with their Alpha.

However it wasn't long until the silence that encompass both men was broken, and dutifully so by Jason. The lad was concerned about the scent he had stumbled upon at the Studi's home, and just could not shake the feeling he got.

"Do you think they will attack us, Gamma?" The silence that once surrounded the men had disperse momentarily at the young wolf's question. Without receiving an immediate response to his question the boy return to his prior state, thinking he may have over stepped. Though it wasn't long after that, had the man responded.

"It is my hope to avoid war.....however there seems to be no stopping it. And if we cannot stop the attack, then we prepare for it." Without stopping his walk back to the village, Cheveyo responded only turning his head slighly to his left to look at the lad behind him.

Continuing their trek, the boy mulled over the words of the man before him and just like that it wasn't long before his mind had strayed back to his earlier thoughts of the unfamiliar scent.

Once Zenith was sure of the warrior's departure, he made his way to his sister's room. Gently pushing the door open he entered,  sitting against her windowsill seat the little girl stared into the forest. Ignoring the presence of her brother, even as his foot steps got closer to her. Taking a seat at the edge of her bed, Zenith waited patiently for her to react.
