THIRD PERSON POV
Gazing at the beauty that stood before them, a sudden invisible and yet dominant blanket fell upon them. Hair standing on end, the power that now encamp them was suffocating, has Zenith grew still. Both boys having to crouch with their heads facing the floor, their beasts whining under the weight of the dominance that surrounded them. A natural reaction for their kind when they were brought before a superior beast they recognized as an Alpha.
Alert, of the potential dangers they faced, Zenith wanted to have a look at his brother to see how well he was coping. Though, no matter how hard he tried to turn in his gaze upon Quentin he failed. The beast that stood behind them had a dominance so stiffening, that forced their beasts to compell to his will like it was a natural command and that was exactly what they did. Many thoughts ran through both their minds, one of which was the fact that they had not known of any beast to be tracking them with such strength. That fact was confusing in itself, then to add the scent. A scent neither had known but somehow seemed familiar to their beasts.
Lowering his head the creature sniffed Zenith's shoulder, an act that wasn't so confusing as he knew the beast wanted to determine who they were, atleast that's what he thought. Soft a rumble he had heard erupt from the beast's throat and though it made him a bit anxious he remained still, avoiding any chance of agitating the animal. Pulling away, Zenith had remained still as the creature did. Now with his focus turned towards Quentin he also sniffed the man, finally able to break away from the spell Zenith was able catch a glimpse of what this predator had looked like.
And by everything he had known and seen throughout his life, Zenith knew that the thing he saw was nothing from this world or so he thought. This creature was like nothing words could describe, but Zenith's, his sight seeing was cut short the moment Quentin had jumped away from this predator. Possibly also catching a glimpse of this creature the only word he thought suitable for a lack of better words.
Quentin survival instincts had kicked in the moment he felt the clawed hand of the creature making contact with his shoulder. That mere action however had triggered a series of actions, the first of which being, a horrifying growl that penetrated the stone walls of the cavern seemingly shaking the entire structure. Such a sound that it had both falling face first to the floor using their hands to protect their hearing devises. In that moment it was as if every living thing had disappeared, the screams of running water was no longer heard, neither was the chirps of the birds or the russling of the plants, all was deathly silent. As if each and every living and moving thing had waited for what was to come with baited breath.
The sound of a body hitting against a surface hard was heard along with the pained cries of Quentin. Alerting Zenith of the perils his brother now faced. The few feet of shrubs that had once separated his brother and the creature was long gone and the body of his brother missing. A vicious rumble falling from the creatures lips has he looked on in a particular direction. Realizing that the command that was once over him was now missing, Zenith looked about in search of his brother and the beast.
Watching the creature's gaze Zenith found his brother, and in a fit of rage he made an attempt to attack the thing, which was proven unsuccessful. For before he could get one foot infront the other his neck was tightly woven in a rather gut-wrenching grasp, has claws buried themselves into the flesh of the struggling man's neck. Sensing the malice that roled of the creature, the man made an attempt to shift while in the creature's hold. Fur breaking through skin, teeth enlonged has he growled out a warning to his captor. However what happen next was shocking to the young lad. One vicious snarl was all it took for his beast to retreat with its tail between its legs.
Recovering from his unplanned visit to the other side of the cavern, Quentin watched has his brother tried to shift and also what the outcome was. To say he was far beyond baffled was an understatement. Falling limp in the creature's hold Zenith eyes were downcast, his body reacting far different than it had before to any command.
