THIRD PERSON POV

Nature had a way of disregarding the fallacies of the human mind, just to have its own set course. Like an oasis in the middle of a desert or watching through a window as the rain pour on one side of your home and seeing the sun shine on the other with unsoiled earth. Always a contrast and never abiding. And that, is what Adora loved the most about nature it was never confined or defined by mortal standards. And maybe her opinion was bias being that nature demanded that to be her belief, yet still it was her belief.

So has she lay against the carpeted grass of the front lawn of the chief's home, she indulged in the relaxing feel, of her mother's soft, age-ridden fingers as they threaded through her hair.

It was a pleasure she had grown accustomed to over the years, one which Samuel have started a while back. Always taking to ruffling her hair, the young boy couldn't help but noticed that she would always lean into the gesture. So, on her sleepless nights it was always the remedy of hot cocoa and a massage to the scalp that got her sleeping . Obviously Samuel wasn't always around and therefore someone else had to get it done when he wasn't, so slowly it became a known fact amongst them all.

And it was that fact that led to Cassidy calling out to her daughter, to have sat with her on the lush grass surrounded by dry shrubs as they watched the community go about their day. Red rimmed eyes had stared back at her along with a lightly pink and otherwise blotchy nose, definitely rubbed more times than it should have. But, beyond that it was the lethargic movements of the girl that confirmed how restless her night prior was.

They had arrived in Texas just a day ago and the community was quite welcoming. Of course Adora was the main attraction, as they all marveled at her, no doubt intrigued by the small female.

'A moon child' Some whispered

'She's beautiful'

'Why is she here'

'Do you think she's here in search of her soul bound.' One particular female asked, an older woman who sported gleeful eyes at the thought.

The entire experience was for a lack of better words....overly dramatic, Adora thought. Yet, that was just her opinion. For she knew nothing of the real implications surrounding her very existence.

Her brothers and father didn't miss the comment and has such watched their surrounding with more fervor than before. Yes, it was only a comment but they knew all too well from history what such comments can stir. Especially, for those looking to climb the status ladder.

But just has they had, so had the group whom had brought them to the place. Providing just a brief glance from his peripheral, Garreth scrutinize the crowd specifically the woman. They could smell the intent, need and carnal want from most of the males. Their desires dripping like fresh honey dew. Yet, no more than a glance was spared has he kept his form sturdy and mind unoccupied. It wasn't a given to say that their leader had heard also, or if he even cared to understand their fuss. Because if he had, then he gave no indication, has he just followed Micah a member of the Aikyam.

Taken to the Chief home immediately, they were welcomed with open arms has they were offered all the required provisions for their stay.

The men however were whisked off to the tribal hall, well all except for those of the Studi household. Celeste had remained however, has per the request of her sovereign. Adora knew not the time they had returned and had left again, if at all. For she was far too occupied with the slight headache she had to endure.

ADORA'S POV

Sleep had eluded me throughout the night, the constant feel of dread and wariness washed over me anew. It wasn't anything new, not since we had escaped our home. The need to always be vigilant, always watching, always expecting the unknown. And this place did little to ease any of those feelings.
