KAIDEN POV

Chapter name: hide from sirens

"SHE'S DEAD! SHE'S DEAD PLEASE HELP HER!" I run in with Tivellys limp body in my hands. I scream at the nurses and people in the waiting room. The nurse at the front desk runs over, yelling for help as she checks Tivelly's pulse.

I follow the stretcher she's on as the nurses run her down the hall, yelling at others to prepare the revival kit. They stop me at the double doors they take her through, gently telling me that I have to wait.

"N-no, I love her." My voice trembles as cries wrack my body. The nurse looks at me with sorrow in her eyes as she tells me that they will do everything they can to bring her back. "I called every one, they will be here shortly... we need to wait." Case places his hand on my shoulder for comfort.

I turn around, glaring at him, "You don't even fucking care about her." I shove him back, causing eyes to turn to us. "Of course I do! She is my friend, but she's been without a pulse for seven minutes. What if there's no coming back from that?" He exclaims.

"If she dies, I'll go back and kill every one of those fuckers that hurt her." I walk past him, going back to the waiting room, praying that she stays alive.

Seconds feel like minutes and minutes feel like hours as I sit in this forsaken waiting room. Everyone that Case called has shown up. Their eyes are wet with tears, sounds of sniffles fill the room.

"So... Able did this to her?" Ray looks down at his hands with malice flowing through his veins. "He's probably done more than just beat her." I stare into the distance as I speak, letting my thoughts spin around in my head.

"What do you mean?" Chloe weakly asks, wiping her teary eyes as Grey hands her a bottle of water. "She has all the signs," I respond, the lump in my throat aching.

Leo sits up, getting involved in the conversation by asking what I mean. "She was raped. She has all the signs." I respond, fury taking over as I punch the seat beside me. Chloe's mouth drops open as her sobs become louder.

"She is drowning in self-hate, and no one could even see that. Maybe that's from regular abuse, but her other signs aren't. She feared Able. She trembled when he got near her. He has always been extremely possessive of her. She was in underwear with Able on top of her when we found her!" I can feel heads that aren't in our group turn to us, getting ready to listen to the drama as if it's a soap opera.

"Please stop it!" Chloe begs, placing her face in her hands. "HOW IS IT THAT I SAW SIGNS OF ABUSE BEFORE YOU?" My voice raises as I stand up, my chair falling backward. "Sir, calm down." A nurse at the front desk warns.

"You two have been her friends for way longer than I have, and yet I figured everything out before you two. You didn't care, did you?" I glare at her two so-called friends. "Stop it, Kaiden," Jayce tells me as Chloe covers her ears.

I almost laugh, looking at Chloe, trying to avoid the feeling of guilt. "YOU DIDN'T CARE, DID YOU? SHE CAME WITH BRUISES EVERY FUCKING DAY, AND YOU IGNORED IT! YOU DIDN'T WANT TO GET CAUGHT UP IN THE DARKNESS OF SOMEONE ELSE'S LIFE, RIGHT CHLOE?" I am yelling now, bending down towards her so she can hear me through her covered ears.

Suddenly I feel a stabbing pain in my shoulder and everything goes black.

I force my tired eyes to open. A bright light is above me, shining down on me. I'm lying on a mattress, a mattress covered in plastic. I groggily lift my head to see Grey sitting in a chair beside me, dozing in and out of sleep.

I look around the room, trying to figure out where I am. The walls are bricks painted grey, and there is a line of beds. We are in the fighting ring. I sit up, touching my tender shoulder.
