KAIDEN POV
Chapter name: fast pace chaos
Sweat drops down my forehead as I get done dragging a stranger into the alley. I glance at Aiden and Jax, who have dragged me into this situation.
I should've minded my own business. I shouldn't have agreed to help them with whatever this is.
I'm standing over a man they drugged and beat. My stomach churns at the thought of getting caught up in their mess.
I glance at Case who seems unfazed by the smell of metallic filling out noses.
It's dawned on me now that we have to leave the drug house. I need to get us away from any sort of crime we could get roped into.
Tivelly CANT know about this.
My first lie to my her girlfriend is the fact that I said I had to help them with something minor. This isn't minor. This is major.
"Why did we do this?" My voice threatens to start trembling as I back away from the guys. Case stays silent since he was brought here along with me.
"You don't recognize him?" Aiden smirks at the unconscious man.
I crouch beside the body, grabbing a handful of his hair and lifting his head up to look at his face.
His face is swollen but I can make out the features.
My eyes grow wide in realizing that this is Tivellys attacker.
Hate courses through my veins as I stand to my feet, looking down at him with disgust.
"He overdosed and got mugged. He never even got to his house." Aiden declares.
"But he is still alive; he will remember what happened," I mention, wishing he would've been finished off instead of just left unconscious.
Jax shakes his head no, explaining that he had put another drug in with the ecstasy that will make him lose his memory of the last few hours.
As soon as I bring up the question on if he will die, Aiden immediately has his hand over my mouth.
I twist his arm off me out of habit and kick him into the wall. His body slams against the brick and he lets out a grunt before cursing under his breath.
"Let me go." He struggles. I let him loose, and immediately he rolls his eyes at me, "You were speaking too loud. I wasn't trying to fight you."
I glare at him. He knows what I do, and he's cold to me because of it. No one likes an underground fighter. He sees me as stupid.
I'm a stupid kid that dabbled in with a gang and had to fight to get out. This stupidity is dangerous; even I know this.
"Maybe Tivelly should go live with her dad." Aiden places the man's keys on his chest, wiping them off with his shirt.
I thin my lips; I was waiting for him to say something. I shouldn't have waited.
"Why are you saying that?"
"You think she's safe with you? I mean, obviously, she's not safe at this drug house. But what happens if your Bosses men come after her-"
"Don't question him." Jax starts, "They can come for him but he's not going to let her get tangled into his mess."
Aiden opens his mouth, about to form a sentence but his words die in his throat.
Then that's enough said.
We begin walking out of the alley, down the road as nothing has happened. "What makes you think she will be safer with Dan? We don't know him, and she doesn't know him." I tried to keep my words down, but of course, my voice didn't let me.
