I entered my original classroom and took my seat. It seemed like today I was the first one here. Levine was on my right and she was glued to her phone for the past five minutes.
I gave up in calling her and just stared at the empty white board that was in front of me. After getting bored for a while, I opened my sketch book and IT opened to the sketch I had done earlier. I frowned at the image and tore it out of the book. I gave it one last glance before crumble it up. "What's with the noise dude?" I heard a familiar voice whine.
"At least that snapped you out of whatever had you glued to your phone," I stared at her blankly. "Okay look, It's not gossip." I blinked at her. "Do you think I'm stupid or something?"
"Uhh..." she trailed off and I rolled my eyes. "Oh I know, shut up. You have more brains than I do but I swear it's not gossip. It's real information."
"Ahh, I see."
"Look your sarcasm is not nee-"
"Students!" My head snapped into the direction of the door and there stood my professor. He had on his spectacles and was dressed in a suit trousers, a shirt and his shoes were polished and he looked so neat- not that he didn't the other days but today was different.
"Professor, you're looking all smart and handsome. Who's the lucky lady?" Levine smirked and Professor Clarkson blushed, bowing his head down. "Are you blushing?" I asked with a grin. He shook his head and dropped his back down on his desk and ignored both of us.
Levine and I shared a knowing glance and we let out a little laugh. This was our favorite professor. Of all time.
He had been teaching me Maths and Science since I was a junior at this school. I'd always been lucky to have him for certain subjects, now I was luckier that he was my class teacher. He and Ms Morkels were truly everyone's favorite. They are that likeable. He was truly one of the sweetest and smartest, tied with Ms Morkels. Our Art teacher.
The desks were now filled with more students and whispers and complements were being thrown around. Darek entered with his back black sling on his one shoulder and his eyes caught Mr Clarkson "Damn man- I mean Sir of course, you're looking smart, where are you going?"
"I hope he answers you cause he didn't answer us," another one, from the back. Darek walked back to his seat but not before arching his brow at the empty seat in front of me, to where Sarah always sat. His tan was skin was glowing and even he looked refreshed. His green eyes were fixed on her desk before they made contact with my honey ones. He looked back at me with a slightly confused expression before I mouthed a 'not here' and he frowned but nodded his head anyways and went back to his seat.
It was unlike her not to be in at school. Usually it's either myself or Levine and we'd copy whatever work from her.
Levine and I shared another knowing glance. If you haven't guessed it, Darek has always had a thing for Sarah. But Sarah was just always so oblivious but deep down, Levine and I both knew that she liked him just as much. Sarah tends to avoid him most of the time and I'm 99% sure Darek notices because by now if he hasn't realized, then his nothing but a bimbo.
"Okay so, I trust everybody is here?" Professor got up with his hands together. My eyes traveled to the desk that was behind mine and it was empty. I didn't want to look but I did anyways. He was never in class on time so why would he even be here? I asked myself. I turned my head back around and had my full attention on Mr
"Why, are finally going to tell us who you're going out with?"
A pink color appeared on the cheeks of Mr Clarkson. "No. It's not about that."
"There's a new student on their way." My brows knitted. "At this time of the year? What's the use?" I heard Brenda, who literally just read my mind. "It's an exchange student," I froze. The pen that was now in my hands was on the floor.
But no one had paid attention to that, only Levine who knitted her brows at me.
He wasn't here.
Alexander wasn't here...
Did they exchange him? How- wait, hold on, why do I even fucking care? I turned back around and buried my head inside my palms. "Everybody met Angelo," I heard Professor say. My head slowly rose and my eyes immediately looked with a newly familiar pair of chestnut orbs. "Alright students this is your new classmate, please treat him well and with respect. Be nice," he gave us all a pointed look.
"Do you want to introduce yourself?"
"I'll do it individually sir," Professor nodded and his head scanned every one of us til his eyes landed on my. "Serine can you raise your hand?"
I frowned for a second but raised my hand up anyways. "Right next to her, there's a seat. Make yourself comfortable,"
He- Angelo made his way next to my desk and our eyes locked once again, the sound of the door opening made me snap out his gaze. Once he sat down, another familiar figure was standing.
He didn't seem to take note of Angelo at all because he was looking straight at me. I chose to not look at him and just engulf myself with worthless notes. "We need to talk," was the last thing he said before taking his seat behind me.
