S E R I N E

I couldn't believe what I seeing.

Was I hallucinating? A circle was formed around us already and I was speechless at the sight in front me. My body radiated with anger, anger towards him.

How dare he?

I hadn't seen him in over a year and now he was here? For what?

The music boomed through the speakers of my car, enough for me and maybe some others to hear. My hands tightly gripped the wheel tenaciously, so hard my knuckles turned white. The window was rolled down as the warm air fanned my skin each time my wheels moved.

The audacity, to even look at me in the face after everything he had done. A part of me had a something inside of me saying he did know I was there. He knew it was me, he knew where I was.

I blink.

Fuck if he knew then he definitely was the person I felt staring.

Damn it.

I hear a police siren and from a glance at my mirror, it was confirmed when I spotted a traffic van right behind me. The blue lights were on and I groaned.

The road was pretty much empty and I immediately knew it was after me.

Yay.

This day was going exactly the way I wanted it to.

Rolling my eyes, I pulled over. From the mirror, I see the officer exit his car. I wait until he gets close enough. "Afternoon miss, how are you today?" I check my watch to make sure it was actually afternoon. "Afternoon officer, I'm having a shitty ass day but that doesn't matter, I trust you're having a good day?" I shot him a small smile. Not even bothering faking a big one.  He squints his eyes at me and I look away.

Ok officer.

"I'm- having a fairly good day,"

"Well good for you," I mutter. "I will need you to please hand me over your drivers license and registration?"

Fucking hell.

"Sure," I mutter like I wasn't tired of this day the slightest.  I take out the things he asked for and hand it over to him. He looks at me and then back at documents.

"Why is this happening again?" I ask after a moment of silence.  "You were speeding miss,"

I was?

"Yes you were,"

Yay. I said that out loud.

"Speeding and not even considering it as a huge thing, I could give you a ticket," I bite my lip.

Yay.

"But I won't," he sighs. "Just make sure you and I never meet again, I wouldn't want you actually getting arrested,"

"Thank you officer... Hernandez." I say looking over to his golden tag. "Hernandez, yo man!"

I hear another through officer Hernandez's walky talky.

Okay fine,

"There's been a problem. Exactly in this area, is a car that has cocaine in it,"

"We'll have to search every car now," he adds on. "Mind stepping out of your vehicle miss?"

I internally furrow my brows but step out anyways. My door is left open as I stand. "Okay we're going have to search her car,"

"What?"

"Miss I apologize but we have to scan your car for any illegal substance," I throw my head back sighing. "It doesn't matter if I say no, so, do as you please,"

He checks my seat, under the seats, in between some spaces, my drawers and the last place left was the boot. I press the button for my boot to be open and he goes behind the car to continue search.

"It's clear in this vehicle Richard,"

Thank you.

"I'm sorry for that miss, it's an urgent thing that needed to be done,"

By traffic offers?

Anyways- I really don't care.

"It's okay, I understand,"  I nod and step in my car. "Have a good day," he says.

Yeah it's already sucking.

"You too," and once he disappears, I start my engine.

I vibe to the song; thot shit by Megan Thee Stallion

A car horn interrupts my fun and I look into the direction of where I hear it and I spot a black car. It was a spotless Audi and I furrowed my brows. "Do you need something?" I ask over the music.

The person in the car had their shades on. The person almost bumps into my car, as they turn in my lane and I immediately shouted a 'What the fuck'

The road I was on was still empty and I had no other choice but to pull over as the person pulled over in front of me.

What the hell?

Without even waiting, I blow out a frustrated sigh and exit my car, walking over to the matching colored Audi. "What the hell is your problem?" I shout. The person steps out slowly like this was some movie.

I was having a bad day already. I didn't need to call insurance for my car to be knocked over.

"I'm sorry but I couldn't help but see you were driving towards a cliff," he comes out, his shades still on as he shut the door to his car. "And you think I wasn't aware of that?"

"Look you're no lifeguard-"

"But I am the FBI,"

"Should I be scared?"

"Were you trying end your life?" I shake my head. "No,"

"And why the hell does that even concern you?" I roll my eyes, shutting the door to my car as well and cross my arms over my chest.

He takes off his shades and my head glitches. I finally come face to face to how he looks like, properly.  I squint my eyes, I knew him.

I knew him from somewhere. My brain takes about a minutes to recognize who he was. The hair, the tan skin, it was him.

I hadn't gotten to fully see him that day but it was him.

"You?"
