Serine

I don't know if it was me or if Alex didn't want me talking to Angelo. I remember back when Angelo and I were sort of talking and I realize even more or so now that we never really spoke. Like I've done with David.
Well, I mean... David was a bit different because he was like the older brother I never had, but still. Back on the library topic, Angelo wanted to speak to me. Then literally just yesterday It was my dad. And right now, when Angelo is simply complementing my shirt and Alex calls me somehow wanting to distract me to a much more different topic but I can't help but notice this time.
Was I over thinking it this time or was I not?
"Hey Alex,"
"Yes my Juli-"
"Don't even," I snort. "That's beyond cringe." I say honestly. His pouting causes me to roll my eyes but I open my mouth to speak. We were all at my house once again and I don't know how I got on this- beautiful kitchen counter. Dressed in the largest hoodie I owned with Alex standing in between my legs, holding my waist with his big hands. "Anyways," I purse my lips. "I wanted to ask you something."
"Sure," he responds. Not knowing I was going to mention Angelo even the slightest bit. "Do you have a...- you know, a problem with Angelo or something?" Something in his calm silver orbs changed into something a little more darker and I definitely saw frustration. He doesn't say anything but just glares into space, his jaw clenched. "Alex, hey. Just answer me,"
"Why should I?" his eyes make contact with mine once again but this time there's just so many emotions that I didn't know this topic could trigger. "Alex if there's nothing to hide then you'd answer."
"I just don't want to,"
Why?
I sigh. Holding on not only my curiosity but irritation to him refusing to answer it. Moments after I say nothing, he sighs looking at me but I refuse to do the same. "Don't be mad now,"
"God damnit Serine," his anger raging once again because he seems to not notice the sore grip he has on my waist. Surely they'll be a mark. "Why can't you see it?" he asks and I furrow my brows "See what?"
"That freaking he likes you. Don't you see it?" Two heads snap in our direction and it's Sarah and David.
Great.
Now Levine will eventually find out and I'll have to face the number 1 question. 'What was he talking about?' combined with ' Who is it?'
Was the last thing I wanted. Ignoring them, I focus on the one in front me. "Stop talking nonsense because I don't want to be explaining shit that I don't even know about- to my friends. Because of your stupid statement," is all I say.
"Stupid?" he chuckled without any humor. "Stupid Serine? Is that really all you got?"
Not in the mood to fight I say, "Look I'm not in the mood to fight with you. Especially in front of everybody over something so dumb,"
"And can you let me go?" He looks at me. "You're hurting me Alexander," he let's go almost immediately and I jump off the kitchen island, not wanting to see his face. "Serine wait," I walk off too the bathroom to release my pee.

Alexander
It was beginning to get dark so Serine began packing things away and the others helped. With her picking up the last chip packet she sees, she throws it away and headed to the living room. "I think that's about it," Levine says.
"Are you all driving in one car?" Serine asks. "Uhm sort of. Darek will be driving with us," Sarah says softly as she tries to hide the slight pink color on her cheeks with her hair. I notice Serine smirk but Sarah dares to not look her way. "How come?" a mischievous look in her eyes. "We have to uhm- study." she says but clears her throat after saying 'uhm'
"May I have-"
"Here you go," and in a nanosecond, a bottle of sparkling water was thrown to her. She catches it effortlessly as if she knew she'd be getting it soon. Levine winks at her. "Enjoy," she then jugs down the bottle and the bottle is empty within 10 seconds.
Wow.
"Okay. I think we should go now," she says. "Of course. Wouldn't wanna delay anything." For a second, I nearly thought Sarah glares. Nearly. They all grab their stuff and hug Serine and I, leaving. Once Serine shut the door it was so silent.
It was back to 'normal'.
She walks right pass me and it's like someone runs a knife through my heart. I sigh, "Babe, don't be like that,"
"Don't babe me and please don't begin on telling me what the hell to be like."
"I don't understand why you girls are so God damn-"
"What?"
"So complicated that you get angry at the most smallest things," this is when she whips her head in my direction like I'd grown two heads. "Smallest? Smallest Alexander? Way to come up with a loud of bull crap." she snaps. "And don't fucking dare come up with female shit. Because the next time you do, you might as well get the fuck off out of my face and not do it in front of me,"
"If Angelo likes me, what's the big deal in that? Why does it matter when I'm with you, I'm dating you. Not him. Why is it such a big deal?"
"You like him don't you?"
"What?" she says barely above a whisper. "Are you fucking serious right now?" When it's silent, she chuckles. One of those cold chuckles. "I never trusted men. And I trusted you but you're making me regret ever being with you. I didn't expect this from you, this is like you seeking for an argument because somebody who is my friend supposedly likes me. I don't care about that. I care about him. There's a difference and you clearly don't see that. So you know what? Enter that door again when you have a better excuse,"
And with one final glance, she walked up the stairs. I watched as she disappeared to her room.
I messed up didn't I.
