Chapter 11

y/n POV
We reached this gate door thingy I went over to swipe the key card and it wouldn't work. "Come on y/n, you didn't think I would let you get further than this, did you?" I heard behind me.

Janson POV
As I approached the children one of them, the tall black one, tried banging on the door. Like that would make it open, what an idiot. Thomas stepped forward and aimed the stun gun at me. I slowly raised my hands and chucked at his weak defence. Then the rest of the group stepped forward behind him. "Open this door Janson," shouted Thomas. "You really don't want me to do that. The maze was one thing but you kids won't last a day out in the scorch. We saved your lives. If the elements don't kill you, the cranks will." As I continued to walk towards the kids, I adjusted my gaze on y/n. "y/n you have to believe me. I only want what's best for you." I smiled. "Step back you slimy rat," she shouted. I rolled my eyes, the attitude on that kid. "You aren't getting through that door y/n," I chuckled. Beep, the code control turned green. The door opened. "What are you doing? Don't just stand there, get them," I screamed as they ran out the door. By the time we reached it the door had closed. I tried to use my key card but one of the kids had smashed the keypad. I banged on the door and yelled "y/n." She looked back at me, stuck out her tongue and flipped me off. The nerve of that child, her parents should've raised her better.

Noah POV
Wow, that was exhilarating. We ran towards the large door and soon we were in the outside world again. As we made it up the sandy hill people in quads started behind us. We were almost at the top when I tripped. Everyone else was so far in front that I thought I was a goner. "Come on, get up," y/n yelled, extending her hand. "Everybody let's go, we'll lose them in the storm," Thomas yelled. I grabbed y/n's hand and got up. We hid behind a hill as the lights began to close in on us. "Go, go, go. Stay low, stay low," said Minho. We were second away from being discovered but then. "Guys over here," shouted Gally. We all scurried through the broken window. As Minho shone the flashlight around, it looked to be an abandoned mall. "Where are we?" Minho asked.

Minho POV
Everybody shrugged, not knowing anymore than me. "Doesn't matter now, we escaped but we have to keep moving if we don't wanna be caught. So where to next?" Asked y/n. "Well," Aris started, "I had these two friends of mine escape the maze with a group called the Right Arm. Apparently from what I've heard around the compound, their organization is in the mountains. We could go there." "People, in the mountains, mountain people, that's our plan?" Newt says skeptically. I chucked and looked over at y/n, she smiled and rolled her eyes. "Yes, I guess that is our plan, cause of this moment that is our only plan," y/n responded. "I agree with y/n," Noah added.

Newt POV
Of course, that little slinthead agrees with her. Is she right, yes, but I could see the lust radiating off of him. I swear I might have to kill him or seriously injure him, so much so that he has to be left behind. "Guys we should probably split up and try to find some supplies," Brooke speaks. Gally turns and grabs her hand, "I'll go looking with Brooke." We all nodded and split into groups. Thomas and Minho, y/n, Noah, Aris and I, Gally and Brooke, and lastly Fry and Winston. As much as I didn't want Noah in my group at least I had y/n. "Alright, don't go wandering too far. See you all soon," Thomas exclaimed.

AU: Don't worry I would never forget that iconic line from Newt. It is one of my absolute favourites. As I was typing it, I heard it in his voice. 😂 I just had to move it around to fit in the timeline. Hope you guys are enjoying the series.
