Chapter 18

Newt POV
It had been a full day since y/n passed out. She still hadn't woken up and we were starting to get really worried. I hadn't slept since she passed out and I don't know how much longer we can stay here. We all refuse to leave her and may have to move her unconscious, which is even more dangerous. "Gasp." I spun around and saw her sitting up in shock. "Are you okay?" I kept asking her what she was thinking but she just sat there silent.

y/n POV
What was going on? I started to take in my surroundings but I still couldn't hear anything. I could see Newt's lips moving but I couldn't hear anything. I started to panic and hyperventilate. I got up and pushed Newt back, stumbling to the pillar to support myself. I saw Minho and Fry run towards me but before they reached me everything started spinning again and then darkness.

Fry POV
"y/n'' I yelled as she fell again. I turned towards Newt, my eyes filled with rage. "What did you say to her," I yelled, storming toward him. He stuttered, "I just... she woke up... so fast... couldn't hear me... Is she okay?" I shoved him to the ground. "Stay back, you probably overwhelmed her." Minho and Aris ran over and held me back. I shrugged them off and went to grab y/n.

Minho POV
I helped Newt up, "hey don't worry about it. He's just worried that's all." Newt sighed, "We all are. But maybe he's right. I took it too fast. I just need some air." Newt shrugged me off and headed towards the door. I turned to Aris, "I'm worried about him. He hasn't been okay since she passed out and it's not healthy." I sighed and shook my head, "I'm gonna go and talk to him." I headed towards the door but when I got outside I didn't see him anywhere.

Noah POV
I saw Newt separate from the group and head outside. I could finally go check on y/n without him breathing down my neck. I slipped past the worried Fry and approached the pile of blankets she was resting on. She looked so peaceful and calm laying there passed out. I sat down beside her and sighed. Even unconscious, she was beautiful and it took everything for me not to lay down beside her. "I know you can't hear me but just wake up, everyone is unsettled and the group seems disjointed." I tucked a piece of her hair behind her ear and she stirred. "y/n?" She shot up like a bullet. "Ahhhh," she screamed.

y/n POV
"Newt." I shot up and looked around, I saw Noah lying next to me. "Do you know where Newt is, I remember seeing him and then I don't remember much after that?" I tried to get up but I fell down into Noah's lap. I was trying to get up when I saw Newt walk back in. We locked eyes and he stormed back out again. "Newt," I yelled after him. I tried to get up again and I wobbled again, Noah shot up and tried to steady me. "y/n maybe you should sit down, take a break." Noah tried to stop me but I was able to push past him. I made my way to the door leaning on it for support.

Noah POV
I tried to stop her, she could always find Newt later. But she pushed past me but when I saw her lean so much pressure on the door I began to rush toward her. "Hey buddy, don't interfere with this." It was Fry who held me back. "I thought you weren't happy with Newt and you can see how weak she is," I argued back. "Yes, while that may be true. I know when not to get in the way of them. Trust me on this, she needs to go and find him. Not only to calm him down but also for herself. This is a different world out here. The glade was safe and predictable but out here everything is testing them and something is off, I can tell. Now back up and let this happen." Fry had stepped in front of me at this point and I could tell he was serious. From the way he was constantly protecting y/n, I could tell there was no point in arguing anymore. I put my hands up and walked away.

Fry POV
I walked over to Minho and crossed my arms. "I don't know about Noah, he definitely doesn't work for WICKD but there is something about him when it comes to y/n." Minho chuckled, rolling his eyes. "y/n has some weird effect on everyone when they first meet her. I wouldn't worry about her, she can handle anything. Plus she's got us on her side." I shoved Minho and laughed. He had a point, she knew what she was doing.
