"Okay! We're here! Are you guys excited?" Nobody answered him. They all just stared at his secret underground training area. "It's huge!" Arianna said, wide eyed. "W-to the-O-to the-W" Hannah said,"Just....Wow!" Chris was so excited that they seemed happy about this whole situation so far, but that was probably going to change soon. Receiving their powers was going to be painful. But, luckily the painful part shouldn't last more than about five seconds. But they would be sore for a couple of days afterwards. "Okay, so who wants to go first?" "Ooo! Ooo! Me! Me!" Caleb screamed. "Oh! I gotta get a pic for my Instagram!" "No! Nope! You can't, remember?" Chris reminded him. "Aw, that sucks." "Okay," Chris said, "Come with me." " Umm, can't I just stay here? I mean, it's not like you're going to rip me open and shove the powers inside me." Nothing came out of Chris except silence "Right?!" Caleb started to look a little freaked out. "Um, right. Right. Of course not. It just might hurt a little. A lot." Chris explained nervously. "Okay!" Caleb said excitedly. Chris was relieved. "Wish me good luck guys!" Caleb looked back at his friends. They all wished him good luck as they looked nervously at him. "Thanks! Well, what are you waiting for Chris? Let's go!" "Umm, where are we going anyway?" "Oh, right! I've secluded an area on the other side, over there." "Cool!" As they walked over there, Chris told the other kids to explore and look around if they wanted. Chris and Caleb entered the secluded area that Chris called the "Other Place" "Welcome to the Other Place," Chris said "Huh?" Caleb asked. "Look, I couldn't come up with a name in time. Anyways, this is where you will be receiving your powers." " Umm, cool! So what powers will I be getting? " "Well, first" Chris said, "your elemental power will be water and ice. Your other powers will be laser eyes, levi-" " Sweet!! Laser eyes! This is going to be awesome! I have never been so excited in my entire li-" "Shut it! I wasn't done!" "Sorry" Caleb said, looking somewhat scared. "Sorry for yelling at you. I might have some slight temper issues. Anyways, I was saying, you would also have levitation of objects, and.....well I'm not sure what you would call this last power. But I call them Slo-mo eyes." "What are those?" "They are, umm.... It's hard to explain. Let's say you are fighting someone with super speed, you wouldn't be able to see what was happening and you would probably lose the fight. You would use your slo-mo eyes to make everything around you seem to move in slow motion, that way you would be able to keep up with the fight." Caleb looked at Chris utterly confused. "But don't worry, I will be there to teach you how to use each of you powers, so you'll get it in no time. Okay?" "Okay." "You ready, Caleb?" Chris pulled out the needle. "Yes, I'm ready." Chris injected the needle. Nothing happened for a few seconds until Caleb let out a blood curdling scream. It was a weak scream, but it slowly grew stronger. Caleb dropped to the floor with pain. Chris turned away, he hated this part. It was too terrifying to watch. But it was over within a couple of seconds. Caleb lay there on the floor weakened. Chris helped him up and said "It's all over now. You have your powers."
