With Hanseok opening the door for her, Seohae left the courthouse and put on her sunglasses. Hanseok followed beside her, more than relieved. She met Myunghee and Seungheuk, who scurried to them.
"How did it go?"
"As planned." Seohae smugly replied.
"Means Hanseo is in jail now?" Seungheuk excitedly asked and they nodded on response, walking down the steps of the building.
Seungheuk felt a wave of fear flood over him, grateful he did not follow the same path as Hanseo. A part of him felt sorry for Hanseo.
"Ahahah.... Luckily you identified it early! We would be the ones in jail now if it wasn't for you..." Seungheuk nervously laughed. He did feel relieved from Vincenzo, but the reality that missed him so closely scared him.
They drove back to the office, needing to clear away some evidence that shouldn't be on their hands.
----
Seohae stacked the final box on her table, dusting her hands. "We're almost done!" She exclaimed, but the man opposite her didn't feel the same way. He went to her, putting his box on top of her table.
"Seohae, you mentioned once this was over you would resume to your mafia duties, right?" Hanseok asked cautiously.
Seohae remembered and her smile faded. "Yeah."
"Does it mean you are going back to France?" He asked simply, but his eyes told the truth.
Seohae hummed in response. "I believe most of my missions will be carried out there."
Hanseok's gaze faltered. "It's good, you can continue to do what you're best at."
Seohae remembered all the memories from France. "It's been a while. Why do you seem so down about it though?"
"I'm not down. It's just, if you're gone who's going to go for dinner at 11pm with me?" He joked.
"By the time I go back, you wouldn't be as busy. You can resume back to your previous lifestyle?"
"Previous lifestyle? What do you mean by that?"
"You know, lazing around in your house, terrorizing Hanseo, the normal Hanseok things."
He let out a 'tch' sound. "I don't care, you better stay until new years or I'm coming to France myself."
There was a long pause before Seohae asked, "So what are your plans for Babel or whatever after all this? You know, when I leave for France."
"The Babel tower is my priority, and I'm thinking of opening a franchise in America."
"That's new."
He nodded. "Yup, but I'm looking forward to the money." He laughed. Seohae gave a sad smile and continued packing.
----"Loser has to do anything the winner says." Hanseok declared. Seohae accepted the challenge, taking a sip of wine and thinking carefully before moving her first piece.
The game of chess carried on through the night, as they played under the cozy lighting of Hanseok's house.
Of course, Seohae won. She was a professional at this game, it even won her countless deals with older politicians.
Hanseok furrowed his eyebrows at the defeat, not being used to losing. He sighed and leaned back. "Okay, what do you want?"
Seohae thought. She had many dares in mind, but there was a question she had been wanting to ask. She put down her cup.
