Demi

The long weekend that we spent at the lake house was the most amazing weekend of relaxation. It was good to just get away. I had made plans before we left to visit a dress shop in town and try on a bunch of wedding dresses. We don't yet have a date or a venue but it can't hurt to try on a couple dresses surely?

"I'm so excited for this" Matthew squealed beside me. I rolled my eyes as everyone else laughed. I stepped into the store and headed straight for reception with my bridal party that consisted of Matthew, Jordan, Dallas, Lauren, Natalie, Heather and Madison.

"Hi Demi. I'm Jenny, it's nice to meet you" I flashed her a smile as I shook her hand. "Who do we have with you today?"

"I have my maid of honour, Jordan. My bridesmaids Dallas, Lauren, Natalie and Madison. My best friend Matthew and then my soon to be mother in law, Heather" Jenny shook everyone's hands as I introduced them.

"It's nice to meet you all. Now, down to the exciting part. What sort of dress are you looking for?"

"Well, I had a baby 4 months ago so I still have quite a lot of baby weight around the stomach area. I don't want anything too fitting" she nodded as she listened intently.

"You look amazing, Honey" my cheeks lightly blushed. "Do you have a budget at all?"

"I don't want it to be too expensive but I know Odell doesn't care. We've already argued about the price of the wedding" I lightly laughed which made everyone else smile.

"If you just follow me through and I'll grab some dresses for you to try on" I nodded as I followed her, everyone following behind. Jenny grabbed dresses as I undressed, slipping into a silk robe. I rolled my eyes as Matthew handed me a glass of champagne.

"It's a celebration" I took it from him, lightly laughing as he just smirked. Jenny stepped back into the room, with a handful of dresses. For some reason my belly filled with butterflies.

"Which one would you like to try on first?" I pointed at one of the dresses and then stepped behind the changing area to slide into it. It was a beautiful dress but it just didn't look right on me. I stepped from behind the changing area and everyone's face said it all.

"It's a beautiful dress but it's not the one" I shook my head as I slid back into the changing area. 5 dresses later and I still wasn't feeling any of them. I started to get frustrated as I collapsed back on the sofa beside Heather.

"You'll find your dress, Honey."

"I didn't realise it would be so hard" she lightly laughed as she leant to kiss my cheek. I glanced up at the door as Jenny stepped through with a dress in hand that was made completely of lace.

"So, I have a final dress that I think will suit you" I nibbled on my lip as I pushed myself to stand. "You mentioned something about a winter wedding?" I nodded as I began towards her.

"Demi, this design is so pretty" Dallas spoke as she admired the fabric. "It would look gorgeous in the winter. It almost sparkles."

"I'll try it" Jenny followed behind me and into the changing area. I wasn't holding out much hope. I've tried on 5 dresses, why do I suddenly think this one will be the one? My jaw dropped as I glanced at my reflection in the mirror.

"I've never had someone suit this dress but Demi, you look gorgeous" I did a little turn, the smile on my face grew.

"I love it."

"It doesn't even need to be taken in. It's like it was made for you" I glanced over at Jenny who matched my smile.

"Okay, enough of the teasing" I lightly giggled at the impatient tone of my sister. I lifted up the dress as I walked around the wall. Everyone's mouths instantly dropped. Dallas' hand clamped over her mouth as her eyes suddenly welled up with tears.

"Demi, you look beautiful" my cheeks lightly flushed.

"You look like a princess" I lightly laughed as I glanced at Madison who was widely smiling over at me.

"You look like mom" my eyes welled up with tears as I glanced to Dallas. "That's your dress, Dems."

We'd bathed Kalen and Hunter for the night but Hunter was still wide awake as he lay on his belly on the floor beside Odell. Kalen was fast asleep upstairs, his gentle breaths we could just hear through the baby monitor. I couldn't help but to smile as I watched Odell play with Hunter.

"What are you smiling at?"

"Huh?" I jumped from my stare as Odell laughed.

"What you smiling at?" my cheeks lightly began to burn.

"Just staring at you and thinking about how much I love my boys" Odell's smile widened.

"Well we love mommy, don't we, Hunter?" he just seemed to babble his reply as he managed to push himself onto his side.

"Babe, watch him."

"He's fine, Baby" he moved Hunter's teddy to his other side which just made him whine. "Are you trying to roll over?" I held my breath as I watched him, tears slightly blurring my vision. He kicked his legs enough to be able to flip himself over. I clamped my hands over my mouth to conceal my squeal. Odell smiled widely down at Hunter who looked pretty pleased with himself.

"He just rolled over" I slid off the couch as Odell slid his hands under Hunter and placed him back onto his tummy.

"You going to do it again, Bud?" Hunter whined as if in protest. He then dramatically lowered his head onto the carpet.

"You're so dramatic, Honey" I slid my hands under him and lifted him against my chest. "Are we getting tired yet because mommy is?" I questioned as I kissed his forehead. He nuzzled his face into my chest and whined. "You can't possibly be hungry, Hunter?"
