Getting to the warehouse where Alex had worked the case was a hassle for all three of them. Shawn really just wants to go home, Alex figured she had better things to do, and Kai of course was

Kai.

Then of course his yelling wasn't helping anything.

"I'm telling you it was this way." Alex said.

"No. It was this way." Kai gestured.

They were arguing over where the body had fallen after being shot. Alex swore he lay so his head was to the wall. Kai said where the blood was, his head would face the window.

"Which one of us was actually here?" Alex crossed her arms.

"Just tell us what happened." Kai narrowed his eyes at her.

"I heard gunshots, decided to head up here and saw the detective on the floor. Dante was above him with a gun. One of his henchman had been killed in the crossfire so he no doubt murdered the detective out of spite. I had to head in to witness protection when I got death threats from Dante, even from in prison." She explained with her serious cop voice.

"Isn't he in jail here? I thought you worked up in LA." Shawn asked.

"He was transferred here since he caused the most chaos here. He had only just relocated his crimes to LA when he was caught."

"Where's the bullet?" Kai asked.

"They never found it."

When the detective was shot, the bullet went straight through his chest. In the report it was unclear on where it ended up.

"Okay well if he was this way," Kai maneuvered around the warehouse room. "Then-" He was dumbfounded as he stared at the window.

Shawn leaned against it, putting his elbow against the glass and tripping when the window opened. He recovered quickly, chuckling and pointing to the now open window.

Kai looked outside the open window. "Either someone is lying, or you saw wrong." He said.

"The hell is this guy talking about?" Alex asked.

"Was this window open when you came up here?" Kai asked.

"I think so, yes." Alex responded.

After a moment of thought he put a hand up. "Follow me if you will."

The two sighed but eventually followed Kai as he exited the building.

"The only logical explanation is someone already being in the room when the detective was. They'd be standing at the wall, facing the window. The bullet would've landed in that tree. Now I just gotta look for it." He explained, using the binoculars. "If only thee damned things weren't so faulty. I hate binoculars."

"You're using them the wrong way, idiot." Alex said.

Shawn reached out and flipped the binoculars the other way. Kai gaped.

"Oh dude! This way is so much better- I can see through freaking space!" He exaggerated.

"You're looking too low." Alex commented.

"Shawn, buddy, will you please tell her something." Kai scoffed.

"No yeah she's right. You're looking at the forest as it was a couple years ago. Trees grow, Kai." Shawn reached a hand out again. "Here." He lifted the binoculars up just a smidge.
