New York flashback:

They drove to Richards house with Dixie silent the whole ride. She didn't even respond to Kai's pestering. It made him feel weird. She always did something, reacted in some way.

"It was pretty hot it that interrogation room today don't you think? Our chemistry is off the charts." He said as he leaned back in his seat.

She didnt say anything, just looked straight ahead as she drove. Kai felt weird. This would be the time she'd call him an idiot.

"We should do something about that one day, maybe you should pull over," he kept going.

Now would be the time where she smacked him in the head. All she did was turn up the radio. Kai scrunched his eyebrows and looked forward.

"That Lizette girl was hot today. How long do you think it takes for a girl to get over the death of a friend before you can ask her out?" He stopped playing with her.

Now she responded. Her grip tightened on the steering wheel as anger bubbled inside her. She didn't know why, but she felt like she could break the steering wheel.

Kai smirked a little. "Um Dix, are you...jealous?"

"What?" She swerved the car at his sudden question.

"Golly me. You're jealous." He teased.

"Why the hell would I be jealous?" She scoffed.

"You don't like me flirting with the blondie, because you like me." He poked her.

"You're an idiot." She got out of the car as they arrived and tried to hide her stupid, slightly blushed cheeks.

Kai smiled, at least she responded. They walked up to the house and knocked on the door. Kai stood a bit closer to Dixie than normal, just to put her off balance.

An older man opened the door. He wore a red sweater vest and a warm smile. His head was slightly balding in the back and he had brown khakis.

"Richard Brown?"  Dixie asked.

"Yes, May I help you?" He asked kindly.

"We are police officers," Kai wrapped his arm around Dixies shoulders, "my name is Kai Parker and this is my partner Dixella Parker. We're not married she just changed it because shes desperately in love with me."

Dixie looked at him angrily that would have killed him if the saying was true. She smacked his head and pushed his arm off.

"We have a couple questions for you." She said huffing.

Kai laughed but rubbed his head as he walked in when Richard invited him and Dixie. They sat on his couch and Kai observed all the pictures of the balding man and his smoking hot wife.

'Well how does that happen.' Kai thought.

"What is this about officers?" He asked.

"Well we-" Dixie began.

The girl from the photos came into the living room behind Richard. She was breathtakingly beautiful and both Kai, and Dixie widened their eyes when they saw her.

"Richard honey, why didn't you tell me we have guests?" She asked smiling sweetly.

"Honey, these are police offers Parker, and Parker," Richard introduced and Dixie rolled her eyes smacking Kai when he snickered. "And they wanted to ask me some questions."

"Oh my, you're not in any trouble are you Rich?" She asked.

"I'm not sure yet." He asked chuckling. "Officers this is my wife Livvie."

"Well hello, would y'all like some coffee? Cookies maybe?" Livvie asked.

"Oh that's-" Dixie began.

"Yes please!" Kai eagerly said. "Do you have chocolate chip?"

Dixie looked to him like he was an idiot as he smiled at the thought of cookies.

"Well yes we do, I'll be right back." She smiled and laughed as she walked to the kitchen.

"Isn't she something?" Richard admired his wife.

"Yes she is." Kai said and Dixie rolled her eyes again.

"We were informed that you used to work on the TV set of daunting hours and heard about a prank gone wrong that led you to be in the hospital." Dixie pulled out her notebook.

"Oh that. No that was all a big misunderstanding. When it happened I was angry of course. I was an angry guy. At the time I was going through a divorce and was all alone and my job was all I had. Then I had to be at the hospital, where I met Livvie and we had a family and not having a job helped me looked after them. That accident was the best thing to ever happen to me." He explained, smiling at the end.

Dixie wrote things down on her notebook as Livvie came into the room again. This time holding a plate of cookies and some coffee.

"Chocolate chip for Mr Parker, and chocolate chip for Mrs Parker." Livvie kindly smiled.

Dixie internally groaned at the name but accepted the cookie. It was possibly the best thing she ever tasted Dammit.

"Napkin dear?" Livvie offered Kai.

"Thank you." He said with his mouth full.

"Can you account your whereabouts for the last two weeks?" Dixie asked Richard.

"Well of course." He happily obliged. "I actually just got back this afternoon from a month trip to Jamaica I took with my wife."

He pulled out his stamped passport and Dixie looked over it.

"I'm really happy to hear you're not a serial killer, but I think I may be in love with your wife." Kai said seriously.

"Happens to everyone." He laughed.

"Thank you for your time Mr Brown, we'll be going now." Dixie grabbed Kai by the ear and pulled him out.

"Bye Mrs Brown. Please call me." He said as he walked out with Dixie.

"We have no leads. Great." Dixie sighed as they got in the car.

"Let's see how Shawn and Sammy are doing." Kai said as he pulled out his phone.

Just then it began to ring.

"Cool." He said as he answered it. "I was just thinking about you."

"Hurry up and get here, we found a body." Sam answered.

"Who's?" He said looking to Dixie.

"Joseph Vance'."
