Shawn hung up another decoration and Dixie gagged. They missed Saint Patrick's day because of the Charlie Wates case. Now Shawn was trying to make up for it by decorating the office and throwing a party.

But Dixie absolutely despised holidays. So she already knew today would be a sucky one.

"Hello my fellow police officers." Kai opened his arms as he entered the precinct.

"We're not officers and neither are you." Sam said from his desk.

"Yikes Saint Patrick's day." Then Kai chuckled and looked to Dixie. "Bet you're having a blast huh?"

"Oh yeah it's great." Dixie fake smiled.

"If it'll help I will offer up my body to you for stress relief." Kai said as he sat next to her. "Ow!" Sam had smacked him in the head.

"What he said." Dixie pointed to Sam.

"Happy Saint Patrick's day everyone!" Shawn beamed to everyone.

Sam and Dix mumbled something in response and Kai wished him back.

"Party tonight at our house. Don't be late." Shawn said excitedly.

"When did this take place?" Kai asked.

"I have a thing." Dixie mumbled.

"Same." Sam followed.

"You guys." Shawn had a whiny voice. "Besides my parents and Dixies mom- we're all the family we have"

"I also have a brother." Dix chimed.

"So we have to spend time together." Shawn finished.

"And a sister." Dixie said again.

"Team- I've got something for you." Captain Becker said coming into the room.

"Tough luck Shawn." Dixie internally celebrated as her and Sam made their way to the main room.

Kai put an arm around Shawn. "Don't worry buddy. We'll get real drunk tonight and I'll let you come out to me again."

"Thanks, Kai." Shawn smiled.

The four sat down and Captain Becker began to brief the team.

"This is Robert Verlack," she gestured to a man beside her. "He is a psychic in need of police protection. Some other entertainers from his group disappeared mysteriously and Mr Verlack believes he's next after his agent disappeared yesterday. I'm putting you on it as you investigate the disappearances."

Robert waved to the group and Sam muttered something to Dixie about how him being a psychic was a load of crap. Captain Becker put casefiles in front of each of them. "I want you to look in the agent. Unless he's found soon he can be either pronounced dead or a suspect. Keep Mr Verlack safe and get to me in 24 hours about what you come up with."

"Yes, chief." Sam answered and she walked out of the room.

"It's nice to meet you- honestly, truly. But uh I've got a show in fifteen minutes so if you don't mind." He made a thumb to the door.

"Come with me Mr Verlack." Sam got up but before he walked out he turned. "Green you ride with me- Daniels gear up and ride with Parker. We'll coordinate outside the building."

"Got it." Dixie said.

"Sir yes sir." Kai saluted and Dixie pulled him but the collar of his shirt and they walked away.

When Shawn and Sam were in the car with Robert, Shawns turned the music down. "So when do you think Arch and Kai will be banging?"

Sam opened and closed his eyes a couple times to register his words.

"I'm thinking the end of the year. Like Christmas or something. They're both so stubborn-"

"What the ever loving shit did you just say to me?" Sam finally processed.

"You talking about the two in the other car? Cause I thought if he wasn't dating you he was dating the girl detective." Robert said.

"Aw thank you." Shawn said flattered.

"I'm going to run this car off the road."

They finally pulled up to the building where Robert needed to preform. Dixie and Sam were stationed in the crowd as Kai and Shawn stayed near the doors.

After today- the four would take Mr Verlack to stay in a safe house as they investigated the murders.

"Hello hello hello! How are the beautiful people of Manhattan today?" Robert said as he came on stage.

People in the crowd clapped and Dixie rolled her eyes. "There's no way in hell this guys the real deal."

"Oh absolutely not. Verlacks just some joker scamming dumb people for money." Sam said back.

By the doors, "dude- this guy is so cool." Shawn said to Kai.

"I know and we're here for free." Kai smiled crazily back.

"Now I'm sensing a beautiful woman over here, recently lost someone." Robert gestured to the left side of the crowd.

A woman with a red shirt lifted her hand. "I've lost someone recently."

The crowd clapped- amazed as Dixie and Sam scoffed. Shawn and Kai fist bumped and squealed.

"Yes- yes a male. Brother- father, no." Robert stopped to close his eyes and take a deep breath. "Your husband says hello."

The woman burst into tears and the crowd clapped more to praise the man as if he were a god.

Robert saw Dixie laugh and roll her eyes. "I'm also sensing some tragedy over here- yes this one is deep."

Dix raised an eyebrow and Robert continued. "It happened oh so long ago. A child- maybe a teenager."

Dixie kept a straight face but now gave him her full attention.

"Yes- a boy. Brother." Her eyes rolled once again. "No- simply a friend. Maybe a boyfriend." An eyebrow raise. "It was an accident. Not your fault but you always blamed yourself." Dixies breathing quickened. "He was- crushed, no. Hit." She swallowed to un dry her throat and shifted in her seat. "Car crash- skateboard accident- bike."

Dixie grew incredibly uneasy and gasped. She couldn't take her teary eyes off Robert.

"Danny doesn't blame you, detective. He never did." She jumped up from her seat- not believing she just heard his name- and ran out of the building.

Sam was forced to stay in his seat as he was still on duty. Kai made his way after her, despite Shawns attempts to stop him.

'What a dick.' Kai thought as he chased after Dixie.
