Chapter 7 - Matty, Matty, Matty
As human being we need certain things. Family, lust, money, power, sex, and love. Without those things we wouldn’t be humans, but take one or a few of them away from us then we’re no longer humans we’re deprived souls. We’re deprived souls that yearn for someone to come along and give them the love, the power and money, but most of all give them the sex and lust.
The rest of the few days I was in New York City went by smoothly, I spent most of the time hanging out with Luca but the time I wasn’t with Luca I was with Carver. I spent just about every night at Carver’s place, I also invited Carver to the wedding. He agreed to go but under the circumstance that he is just a friend of mine and Luca’s. And Luca also invited Reed.
I got my ‘new’ car. “So I’ll see you in a couple days.” I said giving Luca one last hug before I had to leave. They were gonna make the five hour drive to Seabrook in a couple days so they could make it to the ceremony, yesterday was the rehearsal dinner so we both missed it.
“Yep.”
I got into my car and started it letting the engine roar to life slowly. “Bye.” I said putting the car into drive. She nodded her head so I pulled out away from the curb and went in the direction of Hanover. I had planned a few days ago that I was gonna spend time the last two days before I go back to Seabrook, with Matty. I haven’t seen him since…never mind.
The drive was quick because there was barely any traffic on the interstate or freeways. When I finally had a chance to pull my eyes away from the road I noticed that three and half hours had passed by. That meant only a half an hour left to go.
I couldn’t stop letting the thoughts of Ricky run through my mind. The last few days have been so packed with things that I haven’t actually had a second to stop and think about what me and him talked about. But since its just me driving I’ve had almost four hours to think about it.
Why would he say that he loves me? He knows I’d never say it back, or maybe I would but I wouldn’t mean it. He knows that, he knows me and he knows what kind of person I am. He’s like a ticking time bomb, one that goes off but doesn’t explode he just says things that he knows you don’t want to hear.
I quickly pulled into the administration building parking lot. Shutting my car off I quickly ran inside feeling the really cold breeze. I went up to the reception desk and asked what dorm Matty lived in.
“He lives in…” she said flicking the mouse roller up and down looking at a database. “Kemeny Hall room 606.” the elderly woman said with a bright, warm, welcoming smile.
“Thank you!” I said walking out of the tall, wooden double doors.
I’ve been on the campus before so I know where Kemeny Hall is, across from the Berry Library. About three blocks from the administration building. The walk to Kemeny Hall was quick but freezing cold. I went up to the sixth floor which is an all men’s floor so I wasn’t surprised when I got many whistles from the guys in the hall way.
I knocked on the door that belonged to room 606. The door swung open and there stood the six foot two guy with light brown hair and grayish-blue eyes. And the chiseled facial features that matched his perfectly in shape body. It was Matty Masterson that opened the door, the guy that I grew up with and got into a lot of trouble with.
“Meredith Underwood!” he said crossing his arms over his toned chest.
“In the flesh!” I said smiling brightly at him.
“What are you doing here?”
“I went to New York and saw Luca she told me to come visit you since I haven’t seen you since… well its something we shouldn’t repeat. But anyways you gonna let me in?” I asked trying to look past him. I got a quick peek before he nudged me back.
